 CHAPTER 4:

THE WORD MADE FLESH

THE INCARNATION OF THE CREATOR

"The mystery of the incarnation of Christ, the account of His sufferings, His crucifixion, His resurrection, and His ascension, open to all humanity the marvelous love of the heavenly Family. This imparts a power to the truth." -- Review and Herald, June 18,1895

There are many events centered around the incarnation, the life, crucifixion and resurrection of Yeshua that are a mystery to us, but the scriptures tell us that "Surely the LORD God (YHWH Elohiym) will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." -- Amos 3:7

"When we approach the subject of the Christ's divinity clothed with the garb of humanity, we may appropriately heed the words spoken by Christ to Moses at the burning bush, 'Put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standeth is holy ground.' We must come to the study of this subject with the humility of a learner, with a contrite heart. And the study of the incarnation of Christ is a fruitful field, and will repay the searcher who digs deep for hidden truth." -- Manuscript 67, 1898

The story of Adam's creation, "formed of the dust of the ground" mixed with water - (water in the form of mist, a symbol of the Holy Spirit), prefigured the body created (fashioned) for the second Adam (Heb. 10:5) for a habitation of the Spirit. The water was defined as "living water" by Jesus to the woman at the well.

The Son of the Almighty, "a celestial Being," came down from Heaven and took a terrestrial body to demonstrate to mankind, on earth, how they could become "celestial beings" through an operation of His Spirit (1 Cor. 15:40).

IN HIM WAS LIFE, THE LIGHT OF MEN

jcworld.jpg"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God (Elohiym), and the Word was God (YHWH). The same was in the beginning with God (Elohiym). All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and that life was the light of men...and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth...No man hath seen God (YHWH) at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him." -- John 1:1-4,14,18.

The only begotten Son inherited from His Father, the Heavenly David, through His Divine Mother, all power and glory that was Their's to give. He was the express image of His Father and the brightness of His Glory, the Father's Helpmate, the Divine Mother, possessing in Himself the Spirit and creative power of the Father. Since the Son possessed in Himself the same Spirit the Father had within Him, He was the fullness of the Godhead (Elohiym) bodily. In Him was life - the creative power of the Almighty.

"Christ the Word, the only begotten of God (El), was one with the eternal Father, - one in nature, in character, in purpose, - the only being that could enter into all the counsels and purposes of God (Elohiym -- the Father and the Mother)...."The Father wrought by his Son in the creation of all heavenly beings. " -- Patriarchs and Prophets, p 34 (parentheses supplied)

"Who is the image of the invisible God (Elohiym), the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:"-- Colossians 1:15,16.

The Only Begotten Son of the Almighty Father was the firstborn of every creature. He created all things as He spoke them into existence. In Him was the breathe of life, the divine creative power that He inherited from His Parents. "It is the spirit that quickeneth.... the words that I speak.... they are spirit, and they are life." (John 6:63).

The beings He spoke into existence and formed with the breathe of His mouth were all made in His Own image and were all called the sons of Elohiym. These were made in His express image in "form and feature". They appeared as males on the outside but had the female spiritual characteristic locked within their very being. Like Adam, they were male and female in one being.

"Now there was a day when the sons of God (Elohiym) came to present themselves before the LORD (YHWH), and Satan came also among them.... When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God (Elohiym) shouted for joy?" -- Job 1:6; 38:7.

The only feminine being in heaven that was separated from Her male counterpart was the Divine Mother. All the other beings created by the Son were made in His image. The Son was as the Father was before He manifested His Glory - male and female contained in one being. Therefore, these sons of God possessed the Spirit within their very beings; in them was Life - the breath of Life or Ruach. But the Only Begotten of the Father, the firstborn of David, was the only One authorized by the Father to use this power to create. This power which He received by inheritance was that of the Holy Spirit, the Divine Mother -- the Ruach haKodesh.

This inherent or inherited Life the Son of David possessed by birth gave Him all the attributes of His Father, making Him the express image of His person, the brightness of the His Glory, filled with the fullness of the Almighty. When the Son was begotten of His Father and conceived of His Divine Mother, He inherited the Divine characteristics of Both. He was outwardly male as the express image of His Father, while in Him was Life, creative power and immortality, which He received through and from the Divine Spirit Mother. He, like Adam, was two in one, possessing both the male and female attributes.

The Father's Power and Glory were passed on to Him through the Divine Mother and dwelt within His very being, making Him the fullness of God (El YHWH) bodily. This power and glory was His personal possession; the Spirit of the Son of David, His Ruach haKodesh, the Holy Ghost, veiled and hidden within Him as Eve was veiled and hidden within Adam, until she was brought forth as his helpmate. Remember, the creation of Adam and Eve is an allegory or story of the manifestation of the invisible divine attributes of Elohiym (Godhead), even Their eternal power and Family origin, so that we are without excuse if we do not understand or know Them (Romans 1:20).

THE FIRST-BORN OF HEAVEN IS BORN AGAIN IN THE EARTH

"And the angel answered and said unto her, the Holy Ghost (Ruach haKodesh) shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God (YHWH)." -- Luke 1:35

"Now the birth of Jesus Christ (Yeshua ha Massiach) was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost (Ruach haKodesh)." -- Matthew 1:18

"But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived (begotten) in her is of the Holy Ghost (Ruach haKodesh)." -- Matthew 1:20

Jesus-GrowinUp-10.jpgIn this last verse the statement is made, " that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost". In the margin, the translation for conceived is begotten. Here we have somewhat of a contradiction, or do we? How can one conceive and beget at the same time? The Saviour was begotten by the Father before He took on flesh. When it came time for the Son of the Almighty to be incarnated as the Son of man, He returned to His original form when He was conceived in the bosom of the Father the Divine Mother. This was a direct act of the Elohiym's Creative Power.

The Seed of the Woman (the female egg) -- Her express image, the Holy Ghost -- became impregnated by the Seed of the Father -- His express image, the Only Begotten Son. Thus the First-born of heaven was slain from the foundation of the world that He might be born again through an earthly virgin of the lineage of David and take on human flesh. He gave up all His Divine Glory to be born as a man.

The Son had already been begotten of the Father in heaven. In order that He be incarnated in human flesh, the Messiah and His Ruach ha Kodesh returned to Their original form as the fertilized egg comprising the One Being (male and female) in the Divine Mother's womb. It was this same fertilized egg that was placed into Mary's womb by the Power of the Highest - the Divine Mother. Mary became the handmaid of the LORD (YHWH), a surrogate for the Divine Mother, whot brought forth the Son of Elohiym through her flesh. At His birth Yeshua was born of a virgin and was full of the Holy Ghost (Ruach haKodesh). His name was Emmanuel which is translated "El" and/or "Eloah" is with us.

The Messiah was conceived and born in heaven before He was conceived of the Ruach haKodesh and born again of a virgin in the earth. The Divine Mother (Sarah) had implanted into Mary's womb Her own fertilized Seed. Only through Her surrogate Mary (Hagar), could the Son of the Almighty (Abraham) become the Second Adam, the Son of Adam or man (Son of promise) and take on human flesh which had come under the curse of Adam's sinful nature.

"And the angel answered and said unto her, the Holy Ghost (Ruach haKodesh - the Holy Breath of Life -- the female Seed of the Mother) shall come upon thee, and the power (the creative power or the Divine Mother)) of the Highest (the Almighty Father) shall overshadow thee (implant Her fertilized Seed in thee): therefore also that holy thing (male/female or neuter fetus) which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of Elohiym." -- Luke 1:35

The Son of David was begotten-conceived of the Ruach haKodesh. The Seed of the Woman in Heaven, the Female David, conceived or was impregnated by the Male Seed of David, the Begotten of the Father. The Divine Mother, the creative power of the Highest, overshadowed Mary and implanted Her Fertilized Seed into her womb, in order that the Son of the Heavenly Davids would take on flesh through a daughter of the lineage of the earthly David (Luke 1:35). "For that which is conceived (begotten) in her is of the Holy Ghost -- Ruach ha Kodesh (the Holy Breath of Life)." -- Matthew 1:20.

The theory which most theologians have had over the centuries that the Holy Ghost as a male figure impregnated Mary is offensively immoral and outrageously incorrect! Since the truth has been shed on this mystery, we can now understand who the virgin Mary really was. She was not the "mother of God", but rather a surrogate for the Divine Mother into whom She implanted Her Seed and who gave to Her Son human flesh. It is much easier for us to comprehend how a virgin brought forth the Son of the Almighty since she was only the handmaid, the vessel, or the womb into which the Divine Mother implanted Her Fertilized Seed containing the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Modern science can prove that a virgin, when implanted with a fertilized egg of two other human partners, will bear a child without having lost her virginity. The virgin's own biological egg does not need to be impregnated. The child will receive flesh through the surrogate virgin, but will maintain the characteristics of the two that begot/conceived it. The lifestyle, environment, and disposition of the surrogate will influence the child growing in her womb.

THE SON OF PROMISE IS BORN OF THE FREE WOMAN --

THE JERUSALEM ABOVE -- THE MOTHER OF US ALL

Jesus-born.jpgMary's purity and chastity was not violated and her own biological seed was not fertilized or impregnated by any male, whether he be divine or human. If Mary's own seed was impregnated then she could not have remained a virgin and this supernatural birth would have been like any other human birth. Joseph would have been lied to by the Angel who told him to not put Mary away, but to take her as his wife. If a divine male being did impregnate Mary's seed, the sin of adultery and fornication would have been committed by the parties involved and the "Son of Promise" would have been conceived in sin and would have been an illegitimate child. In order for the Son of the Almighty to be of the lineage of the heavenly David, the Seed of the Divine Father and the Seed of the Divine Mother, through a direct act of creation, had to be placed by the Divine Woman into Her human surrogate to preserve her purity.

The lineage of an Israelite is determined through the lineage of the mother, not the father. In the birth of Isaac, the son of promise, Sarah represents those who are born of the Spirit -- the Jerusalem above Who is the Mother of us all (Gal 4:26). Although Abraham's seed brought forth Ishmael, he was born of the flesh (Hagar), not of the Spirit (Sarah). Therefore, to be of the seed of Abraham means more than just being of the fleshly lineage of Abraham. To be a legitimate son of Abraham (the Father above) one must be born of the Spirit, through a direct act of recreation. A son of Abraham will do the works of Abraham which can only be carried out through the indwelling of the Spirit after he has been born from above. Therefore, Yeshua was not only "the Son of David", but He was also "the Son of promise" whom Isaac prefigured. His lineal origin was from both the Seed of the Father in heaven (Abraham-David) and the Seed of the Mother in heaven (Sarah -- the Jerusalem above, the Mother of us all. Gal 4:26).

Mary was the surrogate mother through whom the "Son of Promise" received the blood-line of the fleshly Abraham-David. Through Mary was perfectly fulfilled the allegory of Hagar and Sarah. The Spiritual "Son of Promise" was born of the Spirit and of the flesh at the same time. In this antitype the Divine Mother asked Mary to be Her handmaid (fleshly bondwoman - Hagar) and to bear a son for the Divine Father (Abraham), since the Shekhinah could not bear Him a fleshly son Herself. Mary consented to give

flesh to the "Son of Promise," Who was conceived of the Holy Ghost -- the Seed of the Spirit Mother of us all -- and born of a virgin -- a fleshly bondwoman (Hagar).

THE ALLEGORY OF THE SON OF PROMISE A WOMAN SHALL COMPASS A MAN

"For Elohiym hath created a new thing in the earth, a woman shall compass a man." Jeremiah 31:22. "Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, Elohiym is with us." -- Matthew 1:23.

creation.jpgThe first Adam was created a full grown mature man; he compassed the woman Eve within him, as symbolized by the rib. But not so with the Son of man. A woman or virgin compassed Yeshua, the Son of Elohiym, that He might be born as a babe, not a full grown man. Only a woman can naturally give birth. Therefore, a female body or temple was prepared for Yeshua to dwell in that He might be compassed by her flesh and partake of her humanity.

The only begotten of the Father was compassed by a woman in both the spiritual and the physical sense. The Holy Ghost, the Spiritual Seed of the Divine Mother, was the egg/ovum that received and compassed the Spiritual Seed of the Father, the Only Begotten Son. This Divinely Fertilized Seed was planted in the womb of a virgin who compassed It with her flesh (earth) and water. The Fullness of Elohiym dwelt bodily within an earthly fleshly body temple that He might become the Son of man, the Second Adam, filled with the creative power of His Ruach ha Kodesh, the Shekhinah Glory, the Second Eve. The Son of the Almighty could only come through a virgin birth. It was the only way the Saviour of the world could be manifested and fulfill the prophecy. He also had to come as man's equal to be tempted in all points as we are that He might demonstrate to us His power to overcome Satan.

HE DWELT AMONG US, AND WAS TEMPTED IN ALL POINTS AS WE ARE

The Son of God (YHWH) came to establish the Plan of Salvation in the earth and to restore what the first Adam had lost. The Second Adam Who was male and female in One Being came to challenge Satan who was also male and female in one being. The Saviour was slain from the foundation of the world. He gave up His Glory (His Shekhinah Bride) and position (King and Judge) in heaven. He veiled His Glory within sinful flesh that He might challenge and overcome Satan and win back Adam and Eve's dominion in the earth and to restore to them their divine inheritance as part of the Family of Elohiym.

The Creator humbled Himself and was born again of a virgin that He might condescend to meet Satan as the Second Adam. Lucifer chose to give up his exalted position in heaven and promote his own personal agenda instead of Elohiym's Plan. Satan had fallen from glory by entering into sin. He left his position beside the Father's Glory to promote himself and his own agenda. Comparatively, the Saviour chose to give up His crown of Glory and His position beside the Father, that He might promote the Father's agenda and establish the Plan of Salvation in the earth. The Son of Elohiym left heaven and veiled His Glory in sinful flesh so that He might glorify His Father's name and restore His Kingdom in the earth.

The Holy Ghost prepared a body for the Son of man (Heb 10:5,7). She was the power and instrumentality through which the Creator fashioned for Himself a body, as a son of Adam, and of the seed and blood-line of Abraham and David. Through His feminine creative power working in Mary's womb, the Creator manifested Himself in human flesh. He did not speak Himself into existence, but He was conceived by the Spirit Mother in Heaven and formed by His Holy Ghost (Ruach haKodesh) from the blood and the flesh of the handmaid of the Lord. It was a combined effort of divinity and humanity that brought forth the Emmanuel. He had to be made of the earth, Mary, and of the Spirit, the Divine Mother, in order to fulfill the type of the first Adam. The first Adam was formed by the Creator and His Helpmate, His Ruach haKodesh, out of the dust of the ground. The Second Adam was begotten/conceived by the Divine Father and Mother and given form through His Ruach haKodesh in co-operation with an earthly vessel, Mary.

Satan caused the earthly woman, Eve, to sin and create his image of unrighteousness in the earth. The Heavenly Woman put Her Seed into an earthly woman, to redeem and restore what Eve lost through disobedience. The earthly woman, Mary, obeyed Elohiym's request that she bring forth Their Son without having known a man and without having herself conceived. The Divine Mother would bring forth Her Son in the flesh, through an earthly woman, a virgin, who in faith surrendered her womb that the Seed of the Heavenly David might take root in the earth. Through this "Promised Seed" both man and woman would be restored to the Kingdom of Righteousness as they were in the beginning.

THE SON VEILED HIS GLORY

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace." -- John 1:14,16.

When the Son of David came to this earth to tabernacle among us, He veiled His inherited Glory in humanity. The Word was made flesh through a virgin of the lineage of King David. Thus, the Son of the Almighty became the Son of man. The Only Begotten Son of David was born again in the earth through the earthly blood line of David (through Mary not Joseph) to restore man's spiritual inheritance in the Kingdom of the Heavenly David.

Jesus the son of David (Yeshua ben David) came to earth to re-establish His righteous lineage and restore the House of His Father David in the earth. As the Second Adam, He came to establish the Plan of Salvation (Yeshuw'ah) which successfully eliminated Satan and his rebels from the courts of heaven. Through this Plan, the Second Adam and His Helpmate would be fruitful and multiply Their righteous images and have dominion over the earth, and subdue every creature, even Satan and his rebellious host. Yeshua and His Ruach haKodesh will return Their Royal heritage to Adam and Eve and their descendants, as Their adopted children, restored to the Family and the Kingdom of David.

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt (tabernacled) among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.... That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (Ruach or Life of Elohiym). And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace." -- John 1:4-16

In the above Scriptures we are told that the only begotten Son of Elohiym was made flesh, and that we beheld His Shekhinah Glory because He was full of grace and truth. The inherent light, the Shekhinah that was within Him, shone in this dark world, but it was not comprehended nor was it received by the majority. The Creator came unto His own creation and they rejected Him. Those that did receive Him and the Light, were given the power to become His sons, the sons of Elohiym. This true Light that was in the Word made flesh was His power to create and give life - His inherent creative power, His Ruach haKodesh.

The Creator came to earth as the Word made flesh to speak forth His Father's will. The words of His mouth were spoken with power and authority bringing forth the sons of Elohiym in the earth. Even when we receive His words today, we are born again through His Ruach haKodesh, the Spirit of Prophecy, into the heavenly Family or House of David.

Therefore, we can see, that the Second Adam could be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth with the image of Elohiym and have dominion over the earth through His Helpmate and creative power, His Ruach haKodesh. The Shekhinah was veiled within His fleshly body temple, for She had not yet been manifested. She is the Light that shines in the darkness of this earth, but the darkness receives Her not. In Him was Life and the Light that lighteth men. Veiled by His flesh, the Shekinah Glory, dwelt in the Most Holy Place of the Living Temple of YHWH, the Son of the Almighty.

The pen of Inspiration indicates this in the following statement from "The Desire of Ages", p 52:

jcglorified.jpg"The Shekinah had departed from the sanctuary, but in the Child of Bethlehem was veiled the glory before which angels bow."

When He was transfigured before three of His disciples, a glimpse of that same Glory was given. Humanity was given a glimpse into the Most Holy Place of the Living Tabernacle of YHWH to see the Shekinah Glory resting upon the Mercy Seat of the Savior's heart.

The Son of Elohiym came to dwell among us that we might see the Father's Glory (His Shekhinah) manifested in human flesh. Yeshua came to baptize humanity in the Holy Ghost and with fire. He came to demonstrate to sinful humanity a life that is governed by the Shekhinah; a life immersed in and covered by the Spirit of Life.

His Ruach haKodesh was the Shekhinah Glory which filled His body temple and gave Him power and authority over Satan, sin and death. The miracle working power He used in healing the sick, giving sight to the blind, making the dumb hear, casting out devils, raising the dead, etc., was all the work of the Shekhinah dwelling within Him.

Yeshua ha Massiach had no more power than you and I would have if we were fully surrendered to His Spirit (Ruach haKodesh). If we understood this, we would understand the Plan of Salvation. The Plan of Yeshuw'ah, which is simply the visible manifestation of the Yeshua's Glory in heaven and in the earth. The Family in heaven, Elohiym, devised this plan to demonstrate to the universe the Son's true position, and thereby, overcome Satan and sin in the universe. The Only Begotten Son is the Fullness of Elohiym bodily - in the flesh and the spirit. Through the Creator's manifested Glory, we may be born again of His Spirit and restored to the Family of Elohiym.

CHAPTER 5:

THE RE-CREATION STORY

In the previous chapters we elucidated on the Creation Story and how it was an allegory of the manifestation of the Godhead. In this chapter we would like to show how the Creation Story is basically an outline of the Re-Creation Story. The creation of Adam and Eve is an allegory of how the Second Adam, Jesus, and the Second Eve, the Holy Ghost, were manifested in the earth.

HOW THE FIRST ADAM WAS FORMED

"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed." -- Genesis 2:7,8.

"And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." -- Genesis 2:15,16,17.

"And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." -- Genesis 2:21-24.

Adam was formed in the image of his Creator. The breathe of life was breathed into his nostrils and he became a living soul. Adam came forth from the Creator's hands a full grown man possessing immortality, perfect in health and beauty. But he was alone and without an helpmate. Adam was then put into a deep sleep and a rib was taken from his side and a woman was fashioned from the man. She was bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh. Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and shall cleave unto his wife and they shall be one flesh. Adam was no longer alone, he too had a helpmate and could be fruitful and multiply his image in the earth.

HOW THE SECOND ADAM WAS FORMED

The Son of man was born of a virgin as a child. He grew up as an ordinary child with no spectacular events in His life. But when He reached His thirtieth birthday, He came forth to be baptized of John.

Baptism is referred to as the new birth, being born again of the Spirit. The Son of man was immersed in the Water of Life (Holy Ghost) and He was born again, a full grown man, and became a new creature, the Second Adam. The first Adam was a son of God (Elohiym). The Second Adam saw the heavens open and a golden dove come down upon Him and the Voice of Elohiym was heard to say, "This is My beloved son, in whom I am well pleased."

"And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God (the Divine Mother) descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: and lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." -- Matthew 3:16,17

"And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day." -- Genesis 1:2-5

"In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe...That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." -- John 1:4-14

The Holy Spirit hovered or fluttered over Jesus in the form of a dove as the Spirit of God fluttered over the waters when the earth was being created and darkness was upon the face of the deep. The Almighty Father, through His representative came in the form of a dove and said "Let there be Light." And the Light (the Shekhinah) of the world shone forth through the Son of man, the Second Adam. The Divine Mother then separated the Light from the darkness and called Him "My Beloved Son". The Second Adam came forth, not from the dust of the ground, but from earthly human flesh. His body was mixed with the living waters of the River of Life; the baptismal waters in the womb of the Holy Spirit Mother. The baptismal fount is the womb of the Church or the Woman, the Jerusalem above. Those that are born of Her Seed are born of the Spirit and are children of the free Woman. The Spirit Mother expressed this when She announced, "This is My Beloved Son." The Spirit took the form of a burnished dove and anointed the Son of man, the Second Adam, with heavenly power and authority as the Son of God. The first Adam originally had this glory and power indwelling him before he placed his will under the control of Satan.

OUR CORPORATE REPRESENTATIVE

Adam was made perfect and holy, clothed with a robe of righteousness and crowned with glory. He was made by and in the image of his Creator. The whole human race had its origin in him who was the representative of the Son of Elohiym in the earth. Adam was the corporate representative of humanity. When he decided to break God's law, we who were not yet born, took on the curse of sin through our corporate representative. We who were conceived in sin are just as guilty as our father and mother, Adam and Eve who committed the original transgression against Elohiym and Their government.

"Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned -- for before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not taken into account when there is no law. Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who was a pattern of the one to come. But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God's grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! Again, the gift of God is not like the result of the one man's sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ. Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." -- Romans 5:12-21 NIV

The Second Adam became the corporate representative of humanity and, like Adam, was the firstborn of the Spirit. The Creator, as the Second Adam, clothed Himself with humanity that He might re-establish through Himself what Adam forfeited. He came to fulfill the command originally given to Adam, "be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth with righteous beings." The Family of Elohiym would then have dominion over the household of Satan and thus fill the vacancy left in heaven by the fallen angels. This would bring to an end the great controversy between the Only Begotten Son and Satan.

When the Messiah was conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of a virgin, He was born as the Son of man. When He was baptized by John thirty years later, He was born again. He was baptized and anointed by the Holy Spirit and received the title of the Son of God, the Second Adam. At that moment, the Creator and corporate representative of humanity was anointed and appointed by His Father and Mother to do battle with Satan on behalf of Adam and his descendants.

The Father, through the Mother, authorized His Son to exercise the power and the glory that was veiled within His flesh that He might to come against the kingdom of darkness. Up until this time, the Messiah did not use His inherent power other than to choose good and refuse evil, thereby, living a righteous life. But now He was authorized by Heaven to outwardly use and demonstrate this creative power in the earth that He might do His Father's will and vindicate His Law of Love. This event was signalized by the form of a dove coming down from heaven and hovering over Him, signifying that He had been born again by the Spirit above -- His Divine Mother -- when the heavenly voice was heard saying, "This is My Beloved Son in Whom I Am well pleased."

The Spirit Mother activated His inherent creative power, the power of the Holy Ghost, so that He could come against the power of darkness in the earth. She said, "Let there be light in the earth." The "Light of men" (John 1) did shine forth in the Second Adam, as Adam's glory did shine forth in the beginning. She awaited Her full manifestation in the Person of His Helpmate and creative power - the Second Eve, the Holy Ghost.

MY WORDS ARE SPIRIT

When Adam came forth from the Creators' hands he was perfect and full of glory. We are told that he spoke and named all the animals and the creatures on the earth according to their purpose. In other words, he called them into existence as he called out and named them according to the purpose or intent for which they were created. As he spoke, the breathe of life came forth from his mouth making his thoughts audible as he called forth the names of the creatures. The creative power latent within him could only be expressed by the words of his mouth and the breathe of his lips, for she had not yet been separated from his body as an independent, individual female being.

The Second Adam was anointed by the Spirit Mother, bringing forth the power of the Holy Ghost hidden within His Body Temple. The Word of God came to speak the Father's thoughts, making them audible to man, that He might re-establish His Law of Love and His character in the human family. Because the Messiah was full of the Holy Ghost, it was Her creative power that went forth from His lips to call forth and name the sons of God, according to His purpose. The Messiah said, "My words are spirit and they are life." We, the sons and daughters of Elohiym (God), are wooed by the Word of God, as we receive understanding through the work of the Holy Ghost -- the Spirit of Prophecy. This is how we receive Life through the Word. Life is the Spirit of Elohiym and the Word is the Son of Elohiym. The Word has Life and Light in Him through the indwelling creative power of the Shekhinah -- The Divine Presence. The Spirit of Prophecy, the Holy Ghost, manifests the Word of the Father and the Mother in our characters and our lives. This is how we take on the character of our Creator and Redeemer.

HE SHALL BAPTIZE YOU IN THE HOLY GHOST AND WITH FIRE

"I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:" -- Matthew 3:11

Have we really understood this statement by John the Baptist? The American Heritage Dictionary defines baptize as "1) To dip or immerse in water in a baptismal ceremony. 2) To cleanse; purify. 3) To initiate. 4) To give a first or Christian name to."

The Son of God came to show man how the power of the His Shekhinah would work through the human agent if all was surrendered to Her will. He demonstrated through baptism that we must die to self and be fully immersed in the waters of purification, figurative of being born again through the Spirit. When we die to self we are then resurrected to newness of life. We are born again, not of the flesh, but we are born again in our spirit through the creative power of the Holy Presence - the Shekhinah Glory. Our earthly vessel is formed into a new creature, "a spirit-filled man", a son of God, or a second adam, as the Messiah was born again, in the Spirit, and became the Son of God, the Second Adam, as well as being the Son of man.

Christ's life reflected His indwelling creative power, which He employed only to glorify His Father and Mother in heaven. His life was fully immersed in the Holy Ghost, who had no trouble working through His surrendered humanity. Jesus arose out of the waters of baptism "a new creature"; both God and man, the Second Adam filled with the power and the glory of God through the indwelling of the Divine Presence. The Son of man was initiated back into the Family of God when He was born again and the Spirit uttered the words, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." He received a new name, Beloved Son. The name David means "beloved." Therefore, the Son of man, the son of the earthly David, became the Son of God, the Son of the Heavenly David. Divinity and humanity occupied the same body temple, as they did in the beginning, when the first Adam was created perfect and holy, full of the Divine Presence -- the Shekhinah Glory.

"At the Saviour's baptism, Satan was among the witnesses. He saw the Father's glory overshadowing His Son. He heard the voice of Jehovah testifying to the divinity of Jesus. Ever since Adam's sin, the human race had been cut off from direct communion with God; the intercourse between heaven and earth had been through Christ; but now that Jesus had come "in the likeness of sinful flesh" (Rom 8:3), the Father Himself spoke. He had before communicated with humanity through Christ; now He communicated with humanity in Christ. Satan had hoped that God's abhorrence of evil would bring an eternal separation between heaven and earth. But now it was manifest that the connection between God and man had been restored.

"How thoughtlessly we have read the account of the baptism of our Lord, not realizing that its significance was of the greatest importance to us, and that Christ was accepted of the Father by Him who had clothed His divinity with humanity. Jesus offered Himself to the Father in man's behalf, that those who had been separated from God through sin, might be brought back to God through the merits of the divine Petitioner. Because of sin the earth had been cut off from heaven, but with His human arm Christ encircles the fallen race, and with His divine arm He grasps the throne of the Infinite, and the earth is brought into favor with heaven, and man into communion with his God. The prayer of Christ in behalf of lost humanity cleaved its way through every shadow that Satan had cast between man and God, and left a clear channel of communication to the very throne of glory. The gates were left ajar, the heavens were opened, and the Spirit of God, in the form of a dove, encircled the head of Christ, and the voice of God was heard saying, "This is My Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

"The voice of God was heard in answer to the petition of Christ, and this tells the sinner that this prayer will find a lodgment at the throne of the Father. The Holy Spirit will be given to those who seek for its power and grace, and will help our infirmities when we would have audience with God. Heaven is open to our petitions, and we are invited to come "boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." We are to come in faith, believing that we shall obtain the very things we ask of Him." -- SDA Bible Commentary Vol 5, p 178

THE SOUND OF A DEATH KNELL

"When Christ presented Himself to John for baptism, Satan was among the witnesses of that event. He saw the lightnings flash from the cloudless heavens. He heard the majestic voice of Jehovah that resounded through heaven, and echoed through the earth like peals of thunder, announcing, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." He saw the brightness of His Father's glory overshadowing the form of Jesus, thus pointing out with assurance the One in that crowd whom He acknowledged as His Son. The circumstances connected with this baptism scene were of greatest interest to Satan. He knew then for a certainty that unless he could overcome Christ, from thenceforth there would be a limit to his power. He understood that this communication from the throne of God signified that heaven was now more directly accessible to man than it had been, and the most intense hatred was aroused in his breast.

"When Satan led man to sin, he hoped that God's abhorrence of sin would forever separate Him from man, and break the connecting link between heaven and earth. When from the opening heavens he heard the voice of God addressing His Son, it was to him the sound of a death knell. It told him that now God was about to unite man more closely to Himself, and give moral power to overcome temptation, and escape from the entanglements of satanic devices. Satan well knew the position which Christ had held in heaven as the Son of God, the Beloved of the Father; and that Christ should leave the joy and honor of heaven, and come to this world as a man, filled him with apprehension. He knew that this condescension on the part of the Son of God boded no good to him.

"The time had now come when Satan's empire over the world was to be contested, his right disputed, and he feared that his power would be broken. He knew through prophecy, that a Saviour was predicted, and his kingdom would not be established in earthly triumph and with worldly honor and display. He knew that the prophecies foretold a kingdom to be established by the Prince of heaven upon the earth which he claimed as his dominion. This kingdom would embrace all the kingdoms of the world, then the power and glory of Satan would cease, and he would receive his retribution for the sins he had introduced into the world, and for the misery he had brought on the human race. He knew that everything that concerned his prosperity was depending upon his success or failure in overcoming Christ with his temptations; and he brought to bear on the Saviour every artifice at his command to allure Him from His integrity." -- Signs of the Times, Aug 4, 1887

A PLEDGE OF LOVE AND LIGHT

"In our behalf the Saviour laid hold of the power of Omnipotence, and as we pray to God, we may know that Christ's prayer has ascended before, and that God has heard and answered it. With all our sins and weaknesses we are not cast aside as worthless. "He hath made us accepted in the beloved." The glory that rested upon Christ is a pledge of the love of God for us. It tells of the power of prayer, - how the human voice may reach the ear of God, and our petitions find acceptance in the courts of heaven. The light that fell from the open portals upon the head of our Saviour, will fall upon us as we pray for help to resist temptation. The voice that spoke to Jesus says to every believing soul, "This is my beloved child, in whom I am well pleased." -- Manuscript 125, 1902

"Christ's prayer on the banks of the Jordan includes every one who will believe in Him. The promise that you are accepted in the Beloved comes to you. This means that through the dark shadow which Satan has thrown across your pathway Christ has cleaved the way for you to the throne of the infinite God. He has laid hold of almighty power, and you are accepted in the Beloved." -- The General Conference Bulletin, April 4, 1901

JESUS IS LED BY THE SPIRIT INTO THE WILDERNESS

"Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungered." -- Matthew 4:1-2.

Jesus was anointed and named the Beloved Son of God. The Spirit descended upon Him in power as signified by the golden form of a dove. The Holy Spirit (Divine Mother) commanded Him to go into the wilderness that He might learn to use and depend on the power She had just called forth from His being and authorized Him to use. He was authorized to speak in behalf of Elohiym (the Godhead) with the power and authority of the Divine Presence, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Holy Ghost.

We can see from the Scriptures regarding His wilderness experience that He met Satan's fierce temptations with a "thus saith the Lord." In doing so, He spoke the words of the Spirit of Prophecy, and in those words was the power of Life. "My words are spirit and they are life." Satan could not overpower His indwelling Glory. It was the Glory of the Son of God that overcame Satan in heaven. She had taken his place at the throne of Elohiym as the Spirit of Prophecy. Jesus, the Son of God and the Son of man, was about to overcome Satan in the earth as He did in heaven. The Shekhinah Glory, the Spirit of Prophecy, the author of the Word of God, filled His Body Temple with the Presence and the Power of Elohiym.

THE FIRST TEMPTATION

"And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." -- Matthew 4:3-4.

"From the time of Adam to that of Christ, self-indulgence had increased the power of the appetites and passions, until they had almost unlimited control. Thus men had become debased and diseased, and of themselves it was impossible for them to overcome. In man's behalf, Christ conquered by enduring the severest test. For our sake he exercised a self-control stronger than hunger or death. And in this first victory were involved other issues that enter into all our conflicts with the powers of darkness.

"When Jesus entered the wilderness, He was shut in by the Father's glory. Absorbed in communion with God, He was lifted above human weakness. But the glory departed, and He was left to battle with temptation. It was pressing upon Him every moment. His human nature shrank from the conflict that awaited Him. For forty days He fasted and prayed. Weak and emaciated from hunger, worn and haggard with mental agony, "His visage was marred more than any man, and His form more than the sons of men." Isaiah 52:14. Now was Satan's opportunity. Now he supposed that he could overcome Christ.

"The Saviour was faint from hunger, He was craving for food, when Satan came suddenly upon Him. Pointing to the stones which strewed the desert, and which had the appearance of loaves, the tempter said, "If Thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread."

"Though he appears as an angel of light, these first words betray his character. "If Thou be the Son of God." Here is the insinuation of distrust. Should Jesus do what Satan suggested, it would be an acceptance of doubt. The tempter plans to overthrow Christ by the same means that were successful with the human race in the beginning. The word of God was Christ's assurance of His divine mission. He had come to live as a man among men, and it was the word that declared His connection with heaven. It was Satan's purpose to cause Him to doubt that word. If Christ's confidence in God could be shaken, Satan knew that the victory in the whole controversy would be his. He could overcome Jesus. He hoped that under the force of despondency and extreme hunger, Christ would lose faith in His Father, and work a miracle in His own behalf. Had He done this, the plan of salvation would have been broken. Neither here nor at any subsequent time in His earthly life did He work a miracle in His own behalf. His wonderful works were for the good of others. Though Jesus recognized Satan from the beginning, He was not provoked to enter into controversy with him. Strengthened with the memory of the voice from heaven, He rested in His Father's love. He would parley with temptation.

"Jesus met Satan with the words of Scripture. "It is written," He said. Satan demanded of Christ a miracle as a sign of His divinity. But that which is greater than all miracles, a firm reliance upon a "Thus saith the Lord," was a sign that could not be controverted. So long as Christ held to this position, the tempter could gain no advantage." -- Desire of Ages, pp 118-120

When Christ said to the tempter, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God," He signified to Satan that His power came from the word of God. Satan always twisted the Scriptures for his own selfish motives. But, when the Word is spoken as the Truth and the Life in love, the power of the Holy Ghost accompanies it as the breathe of life, to accomplish and to manifest the very words that are spoken. Christ's faith laid hold of the power in the Scriptures He spoke to Satan. The power of the Holy Ghost is what overcame the power of Satan. The power of truth and love always overcomes the power of selfishness and deception.

THE SECOND TEMPTATION

"Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, and saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God." -- Matthew 4:5-7.

"Satan now supposes that he has met Jesus on His own ground. The wily foe himself presents words that proceeded out of the mouth of God. He still appears as an angel of light, and he makes it evident that he is acquainted with the Scriptures, and understands the import of what is written. As Jesus before used the word of God to sustain His faith, the tempter now uses it to countenance his deception. He claims that he has been only testing the fidelity of Jesus, and he now commends His steadfastness. As the Saviour has manifested trust in God, Satan urges Him to give still another evidence of His faith.

"But again the temptation is prefaced with the insinuation of distrust, "If Thou be the Son of God." Christ was tempted to answer the "if"; but He refrained from the slightest acceptance of the doubt. He would not imperil His life in order to give evidence to Satan.

"The tempter thought to take advantage of Christ's humanity, and urge Him to presumption. But while Satan can solicit, he cannot compel to sin. He said to Jesus, "Cast Thyself down," knowing that he could not cast Him down; for God would interpose to deliver Him. Nor could Satan force Jesus to cast Himself down. Unless Christ should consent to temptation, He could not be overcome. Not all the power of earth or hell could force Him in the slightest degree to depart from the will of His Father.

"When Satan quoted the promise, "He shall give His angels charge over Thee," he omitted the words, "to keep Thee in all Thy ways"; that is in all the ways of God's choosing. Jesus refused to go outside the path of obedience. While manifesting perfect trust in His Father, He would not place Himself, unbidden, in a position that would necessitate the interposition of His Father to save Him from death. He would not force Providence to come to His rescue, and thus fail of giving man an example of trust and submission." -- Desire of Ages, pp 124-125

Jesus declared to Satan, "It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God." These words of Scripture came forth from His lips with power and authority, breaking Satan's deceptive power. Again, it was the power of the Spirit of Prophecy in the words that came forth from His lips that overcame the father of lies. Jesus believed in the Word of Elohiym (God). Through It He had power to overcome the fiercest temptations with which Satan could assail Him. The tempter can never compel us to do evil. He cannot control minds unless they are yielded to his control. Before Satan can exercise his power upon us, faith must let go its hold upon the power of the Holy Ghost, and the will must consent to temptation.

THE THIRD TEMPTATION

"Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him." -- Matthew 4:8-11

"Jesus is victor in the second temptation, and now Satan manifests himself in his true character. He is a mighty angel, though fallen. He avows himself the leader of rebellion and the god of this world. Satan asked the Saviour to bow to his authority, promising that if He would do so, the kingdoms of the world would be His. Satan's dominion was that wrested from Adam, but Adam was the vicegerent of the Creator. His was not an independent rule. The earth is God's and He has committed all things to His Son. Adam was to reign subject to Christ. When Adam betrayed his sovereignty into Satan's hands, Christ still remained the rightful King. When Satan offered to Christ the kingdom and glory of the world, he was proposing that Christ should yield up the real kingship of the world, and hold dominion subject to the tempter.

"Before the Son of man Satan displayed all the kingdoms of the world. As Satan saw them, they possessed great external grandeur. But Christ saw them in a different aspect, just as they were - earthly dominions under the power of a tyrant. He saw humanity full of woe, suffering under the oppressive power of Satan. He saw the earth defiled by hatred, revenge, malice, lust, and murder. He saw fiends in possession of the bodies and souls of men.

"Jesus said to the wily foe, "Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve." Satan had asked Christ to give him evidence that He was the Son of God, and he had in this instance the proof he had asked. At the divine command of Christ he was compelled to obey. The power and authority of the Holy Ghost came forth with the words of His lips giving life and power to the Scriptures. Divinity flashed through suffering humanity. Satan was repulsed and silenced. He had no power to enable him to withstand the peremptory dismissal. He was compelled without another word to instantly desist and to leave the presence of the world's Redeemer. The Second Adam's victory was as complete as had been the failure of the first Adam.

THE POWER THAT MAN MAY COMMAND

"The Son of God was assaulted at every step by the powers of darkness. After His baptism He was driven of the Spirit into the wilderness, and suffered temptation for forty days. Many believe that Christ could not have had the same nature as man, for if He had, He would have fallen under similar temptations. If He did not have man's nature, He could not be our example. If He was not a partaker of our nature He could not have been tempted as man has been. If it were not possible for Him to yield to temptation, He could not be our helper. It was a solemn reality that Christ came to fight the battles as a man, in man's behalf, His temptation and victory tell us that humanity must copy the Pattern; man must become partaker of the divine nature.

"In Christ, divinity and humanity were combined. Divinity was not degraded to humanity; divinity held its place, but humanity, by being united to divinity, withstood the fiercest test of temptation in the wilderness. The prince came to Christ after His long fast, when He was an hungered, and suggested to Him to command the stones to become bread. But the plan of God, devised for the salvation of man, provided that Christ should know hunger, and poverty, and every phase of man's experience. He withstood the temptation, through the power that man may command. He laid hold on the throne of God (upon which is the Shekhinah Glory) and there is not a man or woman who may not have access to the same help through faith in God. Man may become a partaker of the divine nature: not a soul lives who may not summon the aid of Heaven in temptation and trial. , Christ came to reveal the source of His power, that man might never rely on his unaided human capabilities.

"Those who would overcome must put to the tax every power of their being. They must agonize on their knees before God for divine power. Christ came to be our example, and to make known to us that we may be partakers of the divine nature. How? - By having escaped the corruptions that are in the world through lust. Satan did not gain the victory over Christ. He did not put his foot upon the soul of the Redeemer. He did not touch the head, although he did bruise the heel. Christ, by His own example, made it evident that man may stand in integrity. Men may have a power to resist evil - a power that neither earth, nor death, nor hell can master: a power that will place them where they may overcome as Christ overcame. Divinity and humanity may be combined in them." -- Review and Herald, Feb 18, 1890

We may resist temptation, and force Satan to depart from us. Jesus gained the victory through submission and faith in the power of the Holy Ghost. By the apostle James, He says to us, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded." James 4:7,8.

We cannot save ourselves from the tempter's power; he has conquered humanity, and when we try to stand in our own strength, we shall become a prey to his devices; but the name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe." Prov. 18:10. Satan trembles and flees before the weakest soul who finds refuge in that name.

Jesus means "God is Salvation". When we believe upon that name and we speak it forth we are calling forth the power and the authority that was in Jesus Christ Himself. The Holy Ghost was sent from the Father in His name or with the same name, but in the feminine gender. In the Hebrew, Jesus is translated Yeshuwa and means "He will save". Salvation is given to us through the power in His Name. The Hebrew feminine name of Jesus is Yeshuw 'ah and it literally is translated as "victory, deliverance, prosperity, health, salvation." " yasha', yaw-shah'; H3467, a primitive root; properly to be open, wide or free, i.e. (by implication) to be safe; causative to free or succor: -- X at all, avenging, defend, deliver (-er), help, preserve, rescue, be safe, bring (having) salvation, save (-iour), get victory.

" Yehowshuwa', yeh-ho-shoo'-ah H3091; or Yehowshu'a, yeh-ho-shoo'-ah; from H3068 - Yehovah and H3467 - yasha'; Jehovah-saved; Jehoshua (i.e. Joshua), the Jewish leader: -- Jehoshua, Jehoshu ah, Joshua. Compare H1954 - Hoshea, H3442 - yeshuwa'.

" Yeshuwa', yay-shoo'-ah, H3442; from Yehowshuwa' H3091; he will save; Jeshua, the name of ten Israelites, also of a place in Palestine: -- Jeshua.

" yeshuw'ah, yesh-oo'-aw; H3444 feminine passive participle of H3467 - yasha'; something saved, i.e. (abstract) deliverance; hence aid, victory, prosperity: -- deliverance, health, help (-ing), salvation, save, saving (health), welfare." -- Strong's Hebrew Dictionary

Through the Other Comforter sent by the Father in His name -- Yeshuwa -- He actually gives us Yeshuw 'ah, the power by which we are saved and delivered from Satan and his yoke of bondage. What a wonderful realization! Yeshuwa (Jesus) gives us the means to become the sons and daughters of God and to overcome sin in our lives through the power of His indwelling Spirit, the Holy Ghost, the Other Comforter sent in His name, Yeshuw 'ah.

It is through the indwelling of the Spirit of Christ, the Shekhinah, that our humanity is combined with divinity. This is the power and the glory Adam and Eve lost. This is the power and the glory that Yeshua, the Second Adam came to demonstrate and to restore to fallen humanity. It is this power of Salvation that Yeshuwa came to baptize or immerse mankind into. "He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire." This was the major theme of His life and ministry after His wilderness conflict with Satan. Having learned through His temptation to understand and call upon the power of the Shekhinah, the Divine Presence, to overcome Satan, He set forth to complete the work He had begun; to rest not until the adversary is vanquished, and the fallen human race redeemed. Praise the Lords!

THE FIRST MIRACLE OF YESHUA - JESUS

"And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants,'Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.' And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. Jesus saith unto them, 'Fill the waterpots with water.' And they filled them up to the brim. And he saith unto them, 'Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast.' And they bare it. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, and saith unto him, 'Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.' This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him." -- John 2:1-11

"The gift of Christ to the marriage feast was a symbol. The water represented baptism into His death; the wine, the shedding of His blood for the sins of the world. The water to fill the jars was brought by human hands, but the word of Christ alone could impart to it life-giving virtue. So with the rites that point to the Saviour's death. It is only the power of Christ (the Holy Ghost), working through faith, that they have efficacy to nourish the soul.

"The word of Christ provided ample provision for the feast. So abundant is the provision of His grace to blot out the iniquities of men, and to renew and sustain the soul.

"At the first feast He attended with His disciples, Jesus gave them the cup that symbolized His work for their salvation. At the last supper He gave it again, in the institution of that sacred rite by which His death was to be shown forth "till He come." -- 1 Corinthians 11:26

"The wine which Christ provided for the feast, and that which He gave to His disciples as a symbol of His own blood, was the pure juice of the grape. As the guests at the feast remarked upon the quality of the wine, inquiries were made that drew from the servants an account of the miracle. The company were for a time too much amazed to think of Him who had performed the wonderful work. When at length they looked for Him, it was found that He had withdrawn so quietly as to be unnoticed even by His disciples." -- Desire of Ages, pp 148-150

THE MARRIAGE OF HUMANITY AND DIVINITY

The first miracle that Yeshua (Jesus) performed and which began His public ministry, was symbolic of the work He came to do in humanity. This miracle pointed forward to the completed work He came to do in Adam's children; restoring His perfect image in humanity; the marriage of humanity and divinity.

Mary, the earthly mother of our Saviour came and told Him that there was no wine left at the marriage feast. And He replied, "Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come." In other words, God's appointed time has not reached its fullness for Me to begin My public ministry and to show who I Am. Mary, representing the Divine Mother, bids the servants, "What ever He says to you, do it." These words are similar to the words spoken by the Spirit at His baptism, "This is My Beloved Son in whom I Am well pleased, hear ye Him." Listen to His words for they are spirit and in them is life.

The Saviour saw that there were six waterpots made of stone or earthenware and each of them held about 20 to 30 gallons of water. These waterpots were used to hold the water for the rite of purification as it was the custom of the host to wash the feet and hands of the visitor(s) before partaking of the meal. These six empty earthen vessels represented humanity. Six is the number of man, since he was made on the sixth day and he was made of the earth. The emptiness of these earthen vessels reflects the heart of man without the life of the Spirit.

Yeshua speaks to the servants and they do as He says, "Fill the waterpots with water." The water of course represents the living water, the Holy Ghost. The earthen vessels are filled by the servants of the Lord. What takes place is a miracle! The water changes into wine or grape juice which we understand represents the blood of the Messiah. The Scripture tells us that the life is in the blood. The blood of the Saviour does have Life in it. That Life is the Light of men, the Holy Ghost. The power of the Holy Ghost changed the water into the wine. It is the power of the Holy Ghost that changes the water of life in our earthen vessels into the wine or the blood of the Lamb. Through the indwelling His Spirit, the fountain of Living Water, our sinful characters are transformed into the righteous character of Son of Promise. This truly is a divine miracle wrought by the power of resurrection and Life; the power of God given to man.

We must empty our earthen vessels of self to be filled to the brim with the Water of Life by the servants of our Lord. All our preconceived ideas and private interpretations must be put away, emptied out of our earthen vessels so that the servants or prophets of the Lord can then fill our minds and hearts with the Living Spirit of Prophecy. The present Truth, brought forth by the True Witness, the Holy Ghost, will give power and life, and will recreate a new creature who reflects the perfect righteous character of Yeshua our Saviour and Redeemer. The marriage of our humanity with His divinity was all prefigured by the miracle wrought by the Master at the marriage feast at Cana.

When we are truly baptized with the Holy Ghost and with the fire of purification, we actually become new creatures, the sons and the daughters of Yeshua and His Shekhinah, recreated in Their image and likeness. The first miracle Yeshua performed pointed forward to the last and the greatest miracle He will accomplish in His creation; filling humanity full of His Shekhinah Glory, His Divine Presence and thereby, recreating humanity in Their image and likeness, as Adam and Eve were before their fall. Blessed be the Name of the Lords! We praise You Yeshua and Yeshuw'ah our Creators and our Redeemers!!

CHAPTER 6:

THE SECOND ADAM AT HIS CROSS

In the last chapter we discussed the idea that the Son of man did not receive the title of the Second Adam until He was baptized by John and the voice from heaven was heard saying, "This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased." At this moment He was called the Son of God and the Son of man, as was the first Adam, when he was formed a full grown man, in the image and likeness of his Creator. When Yeshua was baptized, it foreshadowed or pointed to His death, burial and resurrection. He was anointed and was authorized to use the indwelling power of the Shekhinah to begin the restoration and the recreation of Adam and his descendants. He received the former rain of the Spirit during His three and one half year ministry. The power of the Spirit of Prophecy was manifested in the breathe of His mouth through the words He spoke. Yeshua either spoke and commanded a miracle to be wrought or He breathed upon them the breathe of Life and they received the power of the His Spirit. His words are the power of Salvation (Yeshuw'ah - Hebrew word for salvation, a feminine form of Yeshua, the Hebrew name Jesus).

During His ministry, from the time of His baptism up until the cross, Saviour was the only Source of the Holy Ghost's power, and that power was confined to His Person or Body Temple. There are several incidences to back this up. One of them is the transfiguration. It was not until after His death on the cross that the Holy Ghost was manifested as a separated Person, and the latter rain of power was given. Let us now look at the transfiguration to see how Yeshua displayed His inward glory to the disciples who were then present.

THE TRANSFIGURATION

"The Saviour has seen the gloom of His disciples, and has longed to lighten their grief by an assurance that their faith has not been in vain. Not all, even of the twelve, can receive the revelation He desires to give. Only three who are to witness His anguish in Gethsemane have been chosen to be with Him on the mount. Now the burden of His prayer is that they may be given a manifestation of the glory He had with the Father before the world was, that His kingdom may be revealed to human eyes, and that His disciples may be strengthened to behold it. He pleads that they may witness a manifestation of His divinity that will comfort them in the hour of His supreme agony with the knowledge that He is of a surety the Son of God and that His shameful death is a part of the plan of redemption.

"His prayer is heard. While He is bowed in lowliness upon the stony ground, suddenly the heavens open, the golden gates of the city of God are thrown wide, and holy radiance descends upon the mount, enshrouding the Saviour's form. Divinity from within flashes through humanity, and meets the glory coming from above. Arising from His prostrate position, Christ stands in godlike majesty. The soul agony is gone. His countenance now shines "as the sun," and His garments are "white as light."

"The disciples, awakening, behold the flood of glory that illuminates the mount. In fear and amazement they gaze at the radiant form of their Master. As they become able to endure the wondrous light, they see that Jesus is not alone. Beside Him are two heavenly beings, in close converse with Him. They are Moses, who upon Sinai talked with God; and Elijah, to whom the high privilege was given - granted to but one other of the sons of Adam - never to come under the power of death....

"Moses upon the mount of transfiguration was a witness to Christ's victory over sin and death. He represented those who shall come forth from the grave at the resurrection of the just. Elijah, who had been translated without seeing death, represented those who will be living upon the face of the earth at Christ's second coming, and who will be 'changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump;' when 'this mortal must put on immortality,' and 'this corruptible must put on incorruption.' 1 Cor. 15:51-53. Jesus was clothed with the light of heaven, as He will appear when He shall come 'the second time without sin unto salvation.' Heb. 9:28; Mark 8:38. The Saviour's promise to the disciples was now fulfilled. Upon the mount the future kingdom of glory was represented in miniature - Christ the King, Moses a representative of the risen saints, and Elijah of the translated ones.....

"But before the crown must come the cross. Not the inauguration of Christ as king, but the decease to be accomplished at Jerusalem, is the subject of their conference with Jesus....He had dwelt amid the love and fellowship of heaven; but in the world that He had created, He was in solitude. Now heaven sent its messengers to Jesus; not angels, but men who had endured sufferings and sorrows, and who could sympathize with the Saviour in the trial of His earthly life. Moses and Elijah had been colaborers with Christ. They had shared the longing for the salvation of men....

"Through being overcome with sleep, the disciples heard little of what passed between Christ and the heavenly messengers. Failing to watch and pray, they had not received that which God desired to give them,- a knowledge of the sufferings of Christ and the glory that should follow....Yet they received great light....They were 'eyewitnesses of His majesty' and they realized that Jesus was indeed the Messiah, to whom patriarchs and prophets had witnessed, and that He was recognized as such by the heavenly universe.

"While they were still gazing on the scene upon the mount, 'a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye Him.' As they beheld the cloud of glory, brighter than that which went before the tribes of Israel in the wilderness; as they heard the voice of God speak in awful majesty that caused the mountain to tremble, the disciples fell smitten to the earth. They remained prostrate, their faces hidden, till Jesus came near, and touched them, dispelling their fears with His well-known voice, 'Arise, and be not afraid.' Venturing to lift up their eyes, they saw that the heavenly glory had passed away, the forms of Moses and Elijah had disappeared. They were upon the mount, alone with Jesus." -- Desire of Ages, p. 420-425.

We are told by inspiration, that while Jesus prayed, the heavens opened and the golden gates of the city of God, Jerusalem, opened wide, and a holy radiance descended upon the mount, enshrouding the Saviour's form. Divinity from within flashes through humanity, and meets the glory descending from above. We are told in Galatians 4:26 that "Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all," and we know that Jerusalem above is the city or the wife of the Father.

When Inspiration describes "the golden gates of the city of God are thrown wide," this is a figure of speech that compares "the city of God throwing wide her gates, and holy radiance descends enshrouding the Saviour's form," to the Divine Mother opening wide Her arms to embrace Her Son. As we read further we find that "divinity from within, the glory of the Holy Ghost, flashes through humanity, and meets the glory of the Mother descending from above." "His countenance shines" as the sun, "and His garments are "white as the light."

The glory He has veiled in humanity comes forth and shines as did the glory Adam had before he sinned. This glory is the righteousness of Christ shining forth for all to see. This radiance is the power of divinity and cannot be destroyed, for it is resurrection power and everlasting life.

As He was enshrouded by this dazzling radiance, Moses and Elijah appeared to talk with Him of His great sacrifice, and the price He would have to pay to redeem Adam and his descendants. No one on earth could understand the depth of the sacrifice He must make on man's behalf. Moses and Elijah appeared to help Him understand what He was about to fulfill by His death on the cross. Both men typified an aspect of the Second Adam; His humanity and His divinity.

Moses represented not only the righteous who would be resurrected, but he was a type of the Saviour, whose humanity would take on sin and become a sin offering for man. The sin offering must always die so that its blood might be shed for the remission of sin. Moses was a type of those that must die to receive their glorification through resurrection from sin and death. Moses asked an angry God to spare the lives of the sinful Israelites and take his life instead.

Elijah, on the other hand, represented those that are translated without seeing death and are alive and remain as such through their glorification. He also was a type of the Saviour, whose divinity became the live offering, which can not die or be destroyed by sin or death, but actually removes and destroys sin. This group symbolize the live offerings as the turtledove and the scapegoat. The turtledove is dipped in the blood of her slain partner dove, and set free into the wilderness. Likewise, on the Day of Atonement, the scapegoat has the sins of Israel placed upon it and is set free without the camp, in a wilderness place. The meaning of these sacrifices will be developed later.

After Christ received a deeper understanding of His sacrifice on the cross, a voice from the cloud of glory enshrouding Him was heard saying, "This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased; hear ye Him." His divine Mother embraced Him in the cloud of glory, a more brilliant glory than came from the cloud by day and the fire by night in the wilderness; a more brilliant glory than what shone from between the two cherubim above the mercy seat. This brilliance was the glory and power of the Father manifested in the presence of the Divine Mother. The glory in the cloud, in the pillar of fire and above the mercy seat was the lesser glory of the Son and the Holy Ghost.

Jesus was now ready to meet the challenge and purpose of His life as the Second Adam. As Adam had searched for a companion, so the Son of man desired His Helpmate and so was drawn to the cross of Calvary, where He would enter the Adamic deep sleep, and from His side would come forth His Second Self, the Mother of all living, the Person of the Holy Ghost.

THE SECOND ADAM'S PRAYER IN GETHSEMANE

"These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: as thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was." -- John 17:1-5.

In these verses it is very obvious what the Son is asking His Father to do for Him - to glorify Him that He might give eternal life to as many as desire Her in their lives. He asked His Father to give Him the same glory He had before the world was. The Son wants to be crowned with the Helpmate He had in Heaven, the Person of the Holy Ghost, that They might recreate man and woman in Their perfect image and likeness. To receive His glorification, He must pay Adam's debt for willful transgression of the Law of God: die the second death on man's behalf.

Deciding to die eternally as a sinner in man's stead, caused the Son of man much agony of heart and consternation of soul while in the Garden of Gethsemane. Not knowing the full outcome and the victory of His death, caused the weight of our sin and woe to crush His heart - full of God's love - as He cried out, "Oh My Father, if this cup may pass away from Me, except I drink it, Thy will be done."

"As the Son of God in the Garden of Gethsemane bowed in the attitude of prayer, the agony of His spirit forced from His pores sweat like great drops of blood. It was here that the horror of great darkness surrounded Him. He was suffering in man's stead, as a transgressor of His Father's law. Here was the scene of temptation. The divine light of God was receding from His vision, and He was passing into the hands of the powers of darkness. In the agony of His soul He lay prostrate on the cold earth. He was realizing His Father's frown. The cup of suffering Christ had taken from the lips of guilty man, and proposed to drink it Himself, and, in its place, give to man the cup of blessing. The wrath that would have fallen on man, was now falling upon Christ." -- The Sufferings of Christ, p 17,18.

Let us now turn our attention to the cross of Calvary, the focal point of Christ's ministry. It is at the cross where Adam is recreated and God's law is vindicated. During the six hours Jesus hung on the cross, the whole Plan of Creation and the Plan of Salvation met their fulfillment, when these words, "It is finished" came forth from Our Saviour's lips with His last breathe. The Creator, the Second Adam, set free His creative power from His own earthen vessel, that He might re-create and glorify mankind in His own image and likeness; humanity filled with His divinity. Let us contemplate what transpired at the cross of Calvary.

THE ADAMIC DEEP SLEEP

"Upon Christ as our substitute and surety was laid the iniquity of us all. He was counted a transgressor, that He might redeem us from the condemnation of the law. The guilt of every descendent of Adam was pressing upon His heart. The wrath of God against sin, the terrible manifestation of His displeasure because of iniquity, filled the soul of His Son with consternation. All His life Christ had been publishing to a fallen world the good news of the Father's mercy and pardoning love. Salvation for the chief of sinners was His theme. But now with the terrible weight of guilt He bears, He cannot see the Father's reconciling face. The withdrawal of the divine countenance from the Saviour in this hour of supreme anguish pierced His heart with a sorrow that can never be fully understood by man. So great was His agony that His physical pain was hardly felt.

"Hope did not present to Him His coming forth from the grave a conqueror, or tell Him of the Father's acceptance of the sacrifice. He feared that sin was so offensive to God that Their separation was to be eternal. Christ felt the anguish which the sinner will feel when mercy will no longer plead for the guilty race. It was the sense of sin bringing the Father's wrath upon Him as man's substitute, that made the cup He drank so bitter, and broke the heart of the Son of God." -- Desire of Ages, p. 753.

"At the third hour, the time of the morning daily sacrifice in the temple, our Lord was hung on a tree between heaven and earth, offered as the lamb of God who taketh away the sins of the world. At the sixth hour, the sun refused to shine upon this awful scene. Complete darkness, like a funeral pall, enveloped the cross. 'There was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.'

"In that thick darkness God's presence was hidden. He makes darkness His pavilion, and conceals His glory from human eyes. God and His holy angels were beside the cross. The Father was with His Son. Yet His presence was not revealed. Had His glory flashed forth from the cloud, every human beholder would have been destroyed. And in that dreadful hour Christ was not to be comforted with the Father's presence.

"In the thick darkness, God veiled the last human agony of His Son. All who had seen Christ in His suffering had been convicted of His divinity. That face, once beheld by humanity, was never forgotten. The face of Christ revealed innocence, serenity, benevolence, - the image of God. But His accusers would not give heed to the signet from heaven. Through long hours of agony Christ had been gazed upon by the jeering multitude. Now He was mercifully hidden by the mantle of God. " -- Desire of Ages p. 754.

The Father and the Mother came down to earth to be beside Their Son. They had come to re-create the Second Adam. When the first Adam was created in the image of his Creator, he was both male and female in one being. He was then put into a deep sleep, and a rib was taken from his side, from which his Two Creators fashioned Eve his helpmate. The Son of God, the Second Adam, was about to be put into a deep sleep, the sleep of eternal death, and from His pierced side the Father and the Mother were to bring forth His Divine Spirit and Second Self, the Second Eve, the Holy Ghost. The Son of man did not fully understand this wonderful plan to bring forth Salvation from His very Being. He only knew that He must die as the Lamb of God and take away the sins of the world, so that humanity would be redeemed and glorified. In pure child-like faith He submitted Himself to fulfill His Father's Great Plan, as Isaac did centuries before.

As the Second Adam hung on His cross, He shared the loneliness of the first Adam. Both desired to be glorified and have a companion or helpmate that was a second self or soul mate. Both desired to be fruitful and multiply their own image. Both understood that this could only be accomplished through another who possessed the power to create and form life within their being. The Mother of all living was about to be manifested from the Creator's side. He was about to be rent in twain, that She would come forth to overcome sin and death and restore what the first Eve forfeited to Satan. What was lost in Eden was to be restored to man and woman by their Creators and their Redeemers, Christ and the Holy Ghost, the Second Adam and the Second Eve.

The Second Adam's humanity became sinful flesh. He had become of the earth. His countenance and His flesh were so marred by the sins of humanity that He was beyond recognition. The Son of God was enshrouded by the "mantle of God" as the Light left His sin darkened soul. He felt the Presence of God slipping away from His Person as the Life within was displaced by the weight of the sins of the world.

"MY FATHER, MY MOTHER, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?"

"At the ninth hour the darkness lifted from the people, but still enveloped the Saviour. It was a symbol of the agony and horror that weighed upon His heart. No eye could pierce the gloom that surrounded the cross, and none could penetrate the deeper gloom that enshrouded the suffering soul of Christ. The angry lightnings seemed to be hurled at Him as He hung upon the cross. Then 'Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabacthani?' 'My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?" -- Desire of Ages, p 754.

When Jesus cried out, "My God, My God why hast Thou forsaken Me?" He was crying out to His Father and to His Mother. He no longer felt Their spiritual presence. They could not stand to look upon Their Son, to see how the defilement of sin so marred the express image of the Father. Adam's sin caused him to forfeit the covering of light and glory. The Second Adam was slowly loosing the Glory He had within. The power of Light and Life could no longer sit on the mercy seat in the Living Tabernacle of God. His Body Temple was defiled with the sins of humanity. The Shekinah Glory, veiled by His flesh at birth, was about to depart from His defiled temple. The "Angel of Mercy was about to take Her flight" and depart from Her Golden Throne in the most holy place of the Living Tabernacle of God.

"When the darkness lifted from the oppressed spirit of Christ, He revived to a sense of physical suffering, and said, 'I thirst.'" -- Desire of Ages, p 754.

This plea indicated that the water of life, the Holy Ghost, was slowly draining out of His earthen vessel. His humanity could no longer maintain under the burden of the sins of the world. His strength was dissipating quickly, as He began to fall into His Adamic deep sleep.

"IT IS FINISHED"

"The Sun of Righteousness, the Light of the world, was withdrawing His beams from the once favored city of Jerusalem...Suddenly the gloom lifted from the cross, and in clear, trumpetlike tones, that seemed to resound throughout creation, Jesus cried, 'It is finished. Father, into Thy hands I commend My spirit.' A light encircled the cross, and the face of the Saviour shone with a glory like the sun. He then bowed His head upon His breast, and died." -- Ibid. p 756.

"When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost." -- John 19:30.

The preceeding Scripture tells us that He gave up the ghost. In the New King James it says, " His spirit". When the fullness of the time came, at the ninth hour, the time of the evening sacrifice, the Son of Elohiym (God), the Second Adam, willingly gave His Spirit up to the Father. If the Son of God was to die, He had to give up the very Life within Him. Since He was the Son of God, the express image of His Father, and the fullness of the Godhead bodily, He possessed divinity in His humanity. The Divine Presence or the Shekhinah dwelt within his Body Temple and gave Him eternal Life. If the Son took the second death in man's behalf, then He must have died the second death for us. If this be so, then, He gave up the Holy Ghost or His Spirit. He gave up His Divinity and His eternal Life!!

DEITY DID NOT DIE

"Was the human nature of the Son of Mary changed into the divine nature of the Son of God? No; the two natures were mysteriously blended into one person - the fullness of the Godhead bodily. When Christ was crucified, it was His human nature that died. Deity (the Holy Ghost - the live offering) did not sink and die; that would have been impossible. Christ, the sinless One, will save every son and daughter of Adam who accepts the salvation (Yeshuw'ah - the Holy Ghost) proffered them, consenting to become the children of God. The Saviour has purchased the fallen race with His own blood.

"This is a great mystery, a mystery that will not be fully, completely understood in all its greatness until (the voice of the seventh Angel sounds just before) the translation of the redeemed shall take place. Then the power and greatness and efficacy of the gift (Grace - the Divine Presence) of God to man will be understood. But the enemy is determined that this gift (the person and work of the Holy Ghost) shall be so mystified that it will become as nothingness." -- Letter 280, 1904, 7A Bible Commentary, p 1113 (parentheses supplied).

The Second Adam willingly fell into a deep sleep, the sleep of eternal death. The Saviour said,"I have the power to lay down My life and to take it up again. I am the resurrection and the life." The Life that was within Him was the Light of men. It was the power used by the Creator to fashion the whole creation. The power of Life and Love was His Own, unborrowed and underived. Only He could give It up, into the Father and Mother's hands, for Them to fashion for Him a Helpmate, His Second Self, Eve, the Mother of all Living, the Person of His Shekhinah Glory.

The light that shone from His face as He bowed His head and died, testified that the Shekhinah Glory came forth from His body temple. His humanity died under the weight of our sin, but His Divinity, the Divine Presence, can never die! He set His Spirit free that through Her He could overcome Satan, sin and death. How else could He die and live at the same time? His humanity took on the corruption of sin and became the sin offering, that must die but His Divinity could not succumb to the influence of sin and death. It is through His Divinity that He had victory over Satan, sin and the grave.

"I am the resurrection, and the life.' This language can be used only by the Deity. All created things live by the will and power of God. They are dependent recipients of the life of the Son of God. However able and talented, however large their capabilities, they are replenished with life from the Source of all Life. Only He who alone hath immortality, dwelling in light and life, could say, 'I have the power to lay down my life, and I have the power to take it again.' All human beings in our world take their life from Him. He (She) is the spring, (He) the fountain of life." -- Manuscript 131, 1897; 7A Bible Commentary, p 1113 (parentheses supplied)

"I am the resurrection, and the life." He who had said, "I lay down my life, that I might take it again," came forth from the grave to life that was in Himself. Humanity died: divinity did not die. In His divinity, Christ possessed the power to break the bonds of death. He declares that He has life in Himself to quicken whom He will.

"All created beings live by the will and power of God. They are recipients of the life of the Son of God... they are replenished with life from the Source of life. He is the spring, the fountain of life... Christ was invested with the right to give immortality. The life which He had laid down in humanity, He again took up and gave to humanity. 'I am come,' He says, 'that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.'" -- Youth Instructor, Aug. 4, 1898

The Plan of Salvation was now established in the earth through Yeshua the Messiah, who offered Himself as the prototype and example. He demonstrated to the sons of Adam how their glory would be restored. If they would allow themselves to be put into a deep sleep, and die to self, His Spirit would resurrect from their sinful flesh, a righteous and holy adam, a son of God.

A FOUNTAIN OPENED FOR THE HOUSE OF DAVID

"Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst" - never crave the world's advantages and attractions - "but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life." -- 7A Bible Commentary, p 1134.

"You must seek to have an indwelling Saviour (the Shekhinah), who will be to you as a well of water, springing up unto everlasting life. The water of life, flowing from the heart always waters the hearts of others." -- Ibid p 1134.

"A Revelation of Grace. - The water that Christ referred to was the revelation of His grace in His Word. His Spirit, His teaching, is as a satisfying fountain to every soul... In Christ is fullness of joy forevermore... Christ's gracious presence in His Word (the Spirit of Prophecy) is ever speaking to the soul representing Him as the well of living water to refresh the thirsting. It is our privilege to have a living, abiding Saviour. He is the source of spiritual power implanted within us, and His influence will flow forth in words and actions, refreshing all within the sphere of our influence, begetting in them desires and aspirations for strength and purity, for holiness and peace, and for that joy which brings with it no sorrow. This is the result of an indwelling Saviour." -- Ibid p 1134

The Second Adam was a well filled with the Water of Life. He was the source; a fountain from which flowed the healing and purifying waters of His Grace. His indwelling Spirit was a reservoir of eternal power and life. Abiding in Yeshua the Messiah was His indwelling Saviour, the Person of the Holy Ghost, without whose gracious Presence, even He the Son of God, would have succumbed to sin and eternal death.

From our Saviour's pierced side flowed two separate and distinct streams; one of blood, the other of water. What a remarkable coincidence that an opening is made in the Second Adam's side. After He fell into the sleep of death, a fountain is opened for the House of David for our sin and uncleanness. These two separate and distinct streams, one of blood and one of living waters, represent our two sacrifices; the sin offering by the blood of the dead offering, and the peace offering by the living waters or the life of the live offering. Both the Messiah and His Shekhinah are symbolized by this fountain which is full of living waters to cleanse sin and its uncleanness.

The guilt of sin is transferred from the sinner to the sacrifice, and then, through the blood, it is placed on the sanctuary, as a record of the sin upon the veil of the Sanctuary. The record of the sin placed in the sanctuary causes the sanctuary to be made unclean; therefore, the sanctuary must be cleansed from the stain or the uncleanness of the blood, representing the record of sin. On the Day of Atonement all the uncleanness on the altar, the floor, and the veil is washed away by water (a symbol of the Holy Ghost, the live offering), not blood (symbol of the Lamb of God, the sin offering). The "veil of the temple, a strong, rich drapery had been renewed yearly." (7A BC, p 1107)

"Important truths concerning the atonement are taught by the typical service. A substitute was accepted in the sinner's stead; but the sin was not cancelled by the blood of the victim. A means was thus provided by which it was transferred to the sanctuary. By offering of blood the sinner acknowledged the authority of the law, confessed his guilt in transgression, and expressed his desire for pardon through faith in a Redeemer to come; BUT HE WAS NOT YET ENTIRELY RELEASED FROM THE CONDEMNATION OF THE LAW. On the Day of Atonement the high priest, having taken an offering from the congregation, went into the most holy place with the blood of this offering, and sprinkled it upon the mercy seat, directly over the law, to make satisfaction for its claims. Then, in his character of mediator, he took the sins upon himself and bore them from the sanctuary. Placing his hands upon the head of the scapegoat (live offering), he confessed over him all these sins, thus in figure transferring them from himself to the goat. The goat then bore them away, and they were regarded as forever separated from the people." -- The Great Controversy, p 420.
