CHAPTER 10:

THE HEBREW GODDESS

THE SHEKHINAH GLORY

"Beyond the inner veil (of the Sanctuary) was the holy of holies....In this apartment was the ark, a chest of acacia wood, overlaid within and without with gold, ....The cover of the sacred chest was called the MERCY SEAT. This was wrought of one solid piece of gold, and was surmounted by golden cherubim, one standing on each end... Above the mercy seat was the SHEKINAH, the manifestation of the Divine Presence; and from between the cherubim, God made known His will." -- Patriarchs and Prophets, p 348, 349

"In former days, miraculous victories had been achieved whenever it (the ark) appeared. It was shadowed by the WINGS of the GOLDEN CHERUBIM, and the unspeakable glory of the SHEKINAH, the visible symbol of the most high God, had rested over it in the holy of holies." -- Ibid p 584.

"The holy SHEKINAH, in departing from the first temple, had stood upon the eastern mountain, as if loath to forsake the chosen city; so Christ stood upon Olivet, with yearning heart overlooking Jerusalem." -- Desire of Ages, p 829

"In every age there is given to men their day of light and privilege, a probationary time in which they may become reconciled to God. But there is a limit to this grace. Mercy may plead for years and be slighted and rejected; but there comes a time when MERCY makes HER last plea. The heart becomes so hardened that it ceases to respond to the SPIRIT OF GOD. Then the sweet, winning voice entreats the sinner no longer, and reproofs and warnings cease. That day had come to Jerusalem. Jesus wept in anguish over the doomed city, but He could not deliver her." -- Ibid p 587

"God's love for the fallen race is a peculiar manifestation of love - a love BORN OF MERCY (the Holy Ghost)....It is because of sin (the sin of Lucifer in heaven) that MERCY (the Holy Ghost) was brought into active exercise." -- Testimonies, Vol. 7, p. 264.

"Christ came to break down every wall of partition. He came to show that His gift of MERCY (the Holy Ghost) and love is as unconfined as the air (John 3:8; Acts 2:2), the light (the SHEKINAH), or the showers of rain (latter rain of the Holy Ghost, Joel 2:23) that refresh the earth." -- Ibid Vol 9, p 190

"We are standing on the threshold of the crisis of the ages. In quick succession the judgments of God will follow one another - fire, and flood, and earthquake, with war and bloodshed. We are not to be surprised at this time by events both great and decisive; for the ANGEL OF MERCY cannot remain much longer to shelter the impenitent." -- Prophets and Kings, p 278

THE SHEKHINAH GLORY REVEALED TO ISAIAH

"Christ Himself was the Lord of the temple. When He should leave it, its glory would depart - that glory once visible in the holy of holies over the mercy seat, where the high priest entered only once a year, on the great day of atonement, with the blood of the slain victim (typical of the blood of the Son of God shed for the sins of the world), and sprinkled it upon the altar. This was the Shekinah, the visible pavilion of Jehovah.

"It was this glory that was revealed to Isaiah, when he says, 'In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.'" -- Manuscript 71, 1897; 7A Bible Commentary, p 1139

VISION OF GLORY LEADS TO GENUINE CONVICTION OF UNWORTHINESS

"In the year that King Uzziah died, Isaiah was permitted in vision to look into the holy place, and into the holy of holies in the heavenly sanctuary. The curtains of the innermost sanctuary were drawn aside, and a throne high and lifted up, towering as it were to the very heavens, was revealed to his gaze. An indescribable glory emanated from a personage on the throne, as His train filled the temple, as His glory will finally fill the earth. Cherubim were on either side of the mercy-seat, as guards round the great king, and glowed with the glory that enshrouded them from the presence of God. As long as their songs of praise resounded in deep, earnest notes of adoration, the pillars of the gate trembled, as if shaken by an earthquake. These holy beings sang forth the praise and glory of God with lips unpolluted with sin. The contrast between the feeble praise which he had been accustomed to bestow upon the Creator and the fervid praises of the seraphim, astonished and humiliated the prophet. He had for the time being the sublime privilege of appreciating the spotless purity of Jehovah's character.

"While he listened to the song of the angels, as they cried, 'Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of His glory,' the glory, the infinite power, and unsurpassed majesty of the Lord passed before his vision, and was impressed upon his soul. In the light of this matchless radiance that made manifest all he could bear in the revelation of the divine character, his own inward defilement stood out before him with startling clearness. His very words seemed vile to him.

"Thus when the servant of God is permitted to behold the glory of the God of heaven as He is unveiled to humanity, and realizes to a slight degree the purity of the Holy One of Israel, he will make startling confessions of the pollution of his soul, rather than proud boasts of his holiness. In deep humiliation Isaiah exclaimed, 'Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips: ...for mine eyes have seen the king, the Lord of hosts.' ....But the conviction of the prophet was genuine. As humanity, with its weakness and deformity, was brought out in contrast with the perfection of divine holiness and light and glory, he felt altogether inefficient and unworthy. How could he go and speak to the people the holy requirements of Jehovah who was high and lifted up, and whose train filled the temple? While Isaiah was trembling and conscience-smitten, because of his impurity in the presence of this unsurpassed glory, he said, 'Then flew one of the seraphim unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged. Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.'" -- Review & Herald, Oct. 16, 1888; 7A Bible Commentary, p 1139-1140

ISAIAH'S EXPERIENCE REPRESENTS LAST-DAY CHURCH

"As the prophet Isaiah beheld the glory of the Lord, he was amazed, and, overwhelmed with a sense of his own weakness and unworthiness, he cried, 'Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips; for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of Hosts.'

"Isaiah had denounced the sin of others; but now he sees himself exposed to the same condemnation he had pronounced upon them. He had been satisfied with a cold, lifeless ceremony in his worship of God. He had not known this until the vision was given him of the Lord. How little now appeared his wisdom and talents as he looked upon the sacredness and majesty of the sanctuary. How unworthy he was! how unfitted for sacred service! His view of himself might be expressed in the language of the apostle Paul, 'O wretched man that I am! who will save me from this body of sin and death?'

"The vision given to Isaiah represents the condition of God's people in the last days. They are privileged to see by faith the work that is going forward in the heavenly sanctuary. 'And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament.' As they look by faith into the holy of holies, and see the work of Christ in the heavenly sanctuary, they perceive that they are a people of unclean lips, - a people whose lips have often spoken vanity, and whose talents have not been sanctified and employed to the glory of God. Well may they despair as they contrast their own weakness and unworthiness with the purity and loveliness of the glorious character of Christ. But if they, like Isaiah, will receive the impression the Lord designs shall be made upon the heart, if they will humble their souls before God, there is hope for them. The bow of promise is above the throne, and the work done for Isaiah will be performed in them. God will respond to the petitions coming from the contrite heart." -- Review and Herald Dec. 22, 1896; Ibid., p 1141.

"Isaiah had a wonderful view of God's glory. He saw the manifestation of God's power, and after beholding His majesty, a message came to him to go and do a certain work. He felt wholly unworthy for the work. What made him esteem himself unworthy? Did he think himself unworthy before he had a view of God's glory? No; he imagined himself in a righteous state before God; but when the glory of the Lord of Hosts was revealed to him, when he beheld the inexpressible majesty of God, he said, 'I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.' Then flew one of the seraphim unto me, having a living coal in his hands, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar, and he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged." -- RH June 4, 1889; Ibid., p 1139

ANGELS FULLY SATISFIED TO GLORIFY GOD

"The seraphim before the throne are so filled with reverential awe in beholding the glory of God that they do not for an instant look upon themselves with self-complacency, or in admiration of themselves or for one another. Their praise and glory are for the Lord of Hosts, who is high and lifted up, and the glory of whose train fills the temple. As they see the future, when the whole earth shall be filled with His glory, the triumphant song of praise is echoed from one to another in melodious chant, 'Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of Hosts.' They are fully satisfied to glorify God; and in His presence, beneath His smile of approbation, they wish for nothing more. In bearing His image, in doing His service and worshiping Him, their highest ambition is fully reached." -- RH Dec. 22, 1896; Ibid., p 1140

CONSIDER WORDS IN LIGHT OF HEAVEN

"Let every soul who claims to be a son and a daughter of God examine himself in the light of heaven; let him consider the polluted lips that make him 'undone.' They are the medium of communication. Then let them not be used in bringing from the treasure of the heart words that will dishonor God and discourage those around you, but use them for the praise and glory of God, who has formed them for this purpose....Harsh and unkind words, words of censure and criticism of God's work and His messengers, are indulged in by those who profess to be His children. When these careless souls discern the greatness of God's character, they will not mingle their spirit and attributes with His service. When our eyes look by faith into the sanctuary, and take in the reality, the importance and holiness, of the work there being done, everything of a selfish nature will be abhorred by us. Sin will appear as it is, - the transgression of God's holy law. The atonement will be better understood; and by living, active faith, we shall see that whatever of virtue humanity possesses, it exists only in Jesus Christ, the world's Redeemer." -- RH Dec. 22, 1896; Ibid., p 1141

THE WHOLE EARTH IS LIGHTENED WITH HIS GLORY

As we have read in the above quotations from the Spirit of prophecy, Isaiah looked within the veil of the sanctuary in heaven and saw the Lord of Hosts and the train of His Glory, the Shekinah, above the mercy-seat, between the two cherubim. When he saw the Lord's Glory, Isaiah said he was undone, and that he was a man of unclean lips. He did not know what to say about what he had seen. Nothing that he could say could describe such beauty of holiness and righteousness. A seraphim took a live coal from off the altar and placed it upon Isaiah's lips. This live coal symbolized purification. No impure word was to fall from Isaiah's lips and he was able to explain the truths he was shown without them being mixed with any human ideas or interpretations. He was able to give the unadulterated truth about the feminine character of the Shekinah Glory and Her part in the closing work of the atonement.

The Spirit of Prophecy through the servant of the Lord also stated that this experience of Isaiah was to be the experience of the last church Laodicea, before she is purified, to go forth and to lighten the whole earth with His Glory. When we see and understand WHO THE SHEKINAH truly is, we will repent of our lack of understanding. We will know that the SHEKINAH GLORY is the Father's Glory, the Divine Mother enshrouding Him on Their Heavenly Throne. And that the SHEKINAH is also the Son's Glory, the Holy Ghost Daughter, enshrouding Him on the MERCY SEAT of the ARK of the COVENANT on Their travelling Throne of Judgment. Jesus Christ will impart His Glory. The Holy Ghost will pour out Her recreative power upon Her offspring in the latter day Pentecost, and She will lighten the whole earth (all humanity that receive) with Truth and Power.

Her presence will be seen in a cloud by day and a fire by night in the midst of Her people as it was in the days of old when the Glory filled the Temple. The Temple of lively stones will be THEIR HABITATION. The Lord Himself will sit on His Judicial Throne, and He will judge the earth, beginning with the House of God. He will determine who truly are His sheep. They will hear His Voice - the Living Spirit of Prophecy - when She, the Fourth Angel, joins Him in the last great work of the Atonement. He will pour out His Spirit on all flesh.

Those that accept His Bride and Helpmate will bear the fruit of righteousness and inherit eternal life, but those who reject Her will bear the fruit of unrighteousness and will be condemned to eternal death. She gives the last invitation to the Marriage Reception; the marriage of humanity with divinity. She will clothe those who accept Her invitation with the garments of Her glory - the robe of Christ's Righteousness. They will be translated to appear before the Bridegroom and His Bride.

All who desire the righteousness of Christ's character must know and receive it from the One who only can impart it to His/Her children. We must personally know the Branch He (Jesus Christ) and the Branch She (Christ the Holy Ghost) the Lords Our Righteousness (Jeremiah 23:5,6; 33:15,16).

It behooves us to take heed of Isaiah's example, and study and pray that His Glory might be manifested in our lives. We need to have the coal touch our lips so that we too will not speak against the Holy Ghost, the SHEKINAH GLORY, the MOTHER of ALL LIVING.

THE ANGEL OF MERCY, AS THE SHEKHINAH

In the following set of references from the Spirit of prophecy we will see that Ellen White has referred to the Shekinah glory as the ANGEL OF MERCY and that she refers to the ANGEL, the SHEKHINAH, in the feminine gender, by using the terms "HER WINGS", "HER FLIGHT", "HER GOLDEN WINGS".

THE ANGEL OF MERCY IN THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY

"When the fast westering sun should pass from sight in the heavens, Jerusalem's day of grace would be ended. While the procession was halting on the brow of Olivet, it was not yet too late for Jerusalem to repent. The ANGEL OF MERCY was then folding HER WINGS to step down from the GOLDEN THRONE to give place to justice and swift judgment. But Christ's great heart of love still pleaded for Jerusalem, that had scorned HIS MERCIES, despised His warnings, and was about to imbrue her hands in His blood. If Jerusalem would repent it was not yet too late... would not SOME GOOD ANGEL lead her to the Saviour's love, and avert her doom?" -- Desire of Ages, p. 578.

"As the approach of the Roman armies was a sign to the disciples of the impending destruction of Jerusalem, so may this apostasy be a sign to us that the measure of forbearance is reached, that the measure of our nation's iniquity is full and the ANGEL OF MERCY is about to take HER FLIGHT, never to return." -- Testimonies Vol 5, p. 451

"I was shown that a terrible condition of things exists in our world. The ANGEL OF MERCY is folding HER WINGS, ready to depart. Already the Lord's restraining power is being withdrawn from earth, and Satan is seeking to stir up the various elements in the religious world, leading men to place themselves under the training of the great deceiver, who works with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in the children of disobedience. Already the inhabitants of the earth are marshaling under the leading of the prince of darkness and this is but the beginning of the end." -- Testimonies Vol 8, p. 49.

"No Second Probation. There is not a second probation for anyone. Now is probationary time, before the ANGEL shall fold HER GOLDEN WINGS, the ANGEL OF MERCY, and shall step down from the THRONE, and MERCY, MERCY is gone forever." -- MS 49, 1894; 7A BC 989

HEBREW TITLES FOR GOD

There are basically three nouns, titles, used in Hebrew which are translated "God". These are El, Eloah, and Elohim.

EL is translated God, god, idols, mighty, mighty one, power, and strong. It is used in reference to YHWH, the God of Israel, as well as of gods of other nations. It is singular and masculine.

ELOAH is translated God. It appears over fifty times in the Scriptures. This word with added masculine plural ending "im", makes up the word Elohim. It would be well to note here, that Eloah has the feminine ending "ah" and according to Hebrew grammar, is referring to a GODDESS.

ELOHIM is translated angels, God, godly, judges, gods, and one time goddess, in 1Kings 11:13. It is feminine and masculine plural.

EL SHADDAI has been translated "Almighty". Leslie Hardinge, in a study on The Revelation, has given reference to this word (El Shaddai), and has stated its correct translation as being "The Mighty Breasted One". This is the correct rendering because the root of the word "Shaddai" is "Shad", which means "breasts" (feminine). If one would study the places where ELOAH is used, it would be easily discerned that in many of the same, or neighboring verses the words "EL SHADDAI" are also used.

SHEKHINAH is another term that is used to refer to God's Presence, the Holy Spirit, in the Sanctuary. It also has the feminine ending "ah".

"In Semitic languages, the verb as well as the adjective have separate male and female forms; in the sentence "the Shekhinah rose up....and said," therefore, both verbs impress the reader (or hearer) with the femininity of the Shekhinah by taking themselves the feminine forms. Thus, even without any explicit pronouncement to the effect that the Shekhinah was a FEMALE DIVINE ENTITY, her sex was kept in the forefront of consciousness by every statement made about her." -- The Hebrew Goddess, by Raphael Patai, p 114

This is also true in regards to the word Ruach (Spirit).

The Hebrew language has gone through four major changes. Biblical Hebrew, Hebrew of the Mishna, Medieval Hebrew and Modern Hebrew.

HOLY SPIRIT'S HEBREW GENDER

Jesus growing up in Palestine as He did, probably did not have much occasion to speak Greek or Latin. Though Greek was the language of most of the area of the world, it was not commonly spoken by the Jews. Josephus, a Jewish historian who lived at the time of Christ says;

"I have also taken a great deal of pains to obtain the learning of the Greeks, and understand the elements of the Greek language; although I have so accustomed myself to speak my own tongue, that I cannot pronounce Greek with sufficient exactness. For our nation does not encourage those that learn the languages of many nations." -- The Works of Josephus, Antiquities XX, X12

"Indeed the teaching of Greek was forbidden by Jewish Rabbis. It was said that it was better for a man to give his child meat of swine than to teach him the language of the Greeks." -- The Holy Bible from Ancient Eastern Manuscripts by George Llamsa, pg x

The holy language in Palestine was Hebrew, while the common language was thought to be Aramaic. These languages are very closely related. Most of Jesus' discourses were spoken in Hebrew and Aramaic. ON the cross His cry to God was spoken in Aramaic. He very probably, as a common man, thought in Aramaic (and Hebrew).

"Remember: There is no neuter in Hebrew. EVERYTHING IS 'HE' or 'SHE', even tables, chairs, pencils, etc." - The Berlitz Self Teacher: Hebrew; Crosset & Dunlap, publ., New York, p 13

"There are two genders in Hebrew, masculine and feminine....You can recognize feminine nouns by watching for the ending (ah) or (t). Moreover, the words 'zeh' and 'zoht' both meaning 'this' are used for masculine and feminine respectively." Ibid pg 2

In Hebrew the word for Holy Spirit is "ruach". It is also translated "wind". The "ach" ending is another form of "ah" and is feminine also. Whenever Jesus thought of the Holy Spirit, as a personal being, and not just an influence, He would have been thinking with a feminine gendered being in mind. That is; if He were thinking, and growing, and learning as a common man. When He read verses like Proverb 8:20, where Wisdom, "She", Hookmah, says, "I LEAD in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of Judgments", He knew this was the work of the Holy Spirit, whom the Father sends, in answer to the prayer of Christ. There is one thing that needs to be noted here: this rule of determining feminine nouns does not apply to proper names.

The following verses of Scripture truly depict the Heavenly Family. The Father is talking to His Son about His Mother Who is Wisdom, Hookmah and the Daughter Who is Understanding.

"For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother. He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live. Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honor, when thou dost embrace her. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee. I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths. Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life." -- Proverbs 4:3-13

HOLY SPIRIT'S GREEK GENDER

The situation is not the same in Greek. Besides the masculine and the feminine they employ a neuter form. The word for Spirit is "pneuma" and is in the neuter.

This presented a problem when trying to translate from the Hebrew or Aramaic words for Spirit, for they are feminine. PERSONALITY was lost in the exchange.

The word translated "Comforter" (paraclete, in Greek) is in the masculine gender only. It is also translated "advocate" John 2:1. It carries the connotation of intercessor or lawyer. You could not say in Greek "My lawyer (paraclete) SHE represents me in court."

This is why in our English translation the Spirit is referred to as "HE" or "IT". "He" is used when personality is implied by the use of "paraclete" or as in John 16:13 "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come."

While YHWH is a proper name, El, Eloah, and Elohiym are titles. An interesting comparison:

EL - Masculine ELOAH - Feminine

ELOHIYM - feminine base with a masculine plural ending

JOE - Masculine JOAN - Feminine

JONES - feminine base with a plural ending

A friend asked her Hebrew teacher, a practicing Messianic Jew, what was the difference between El, Eloah, and Elohiym. She Said that there was no difference. Then she asked her why did one of them have a plural ending (iym). She said that "this refers to the Plurality of Majesty. The greatness of God." Then she asked why one of the words has a feminine ending (ah), and what does Eloah mean, seeing that it is still a different word. Her reply was, "This refers to the PERSONAL GOD, the one who is WITH US." It was obvious with no further questions that this referred to the Holy Spirit.

CONCLUSION

"In the third century, that time of developing apostasies (Rome), Paul of Samosatar advanced a theory denying the PERSONALITY of the HOLY SPIRIT, regarding the Holy Spirit merely as an influence... about the time of the Protestant Reformation two men... revived the theory, and many accepted it. The chilling influence of this concept has told on all Protestant churches. In our Authorized Version of 1611 (King James) the personal pronoun applied by Christ to the Holy Spirit in the Greek, IS NEUTER, and in the following precise grammatical construction the impersonal pronoun ITSELF is used in the Authorized Version... (and) has had a large bearing on the popular understanding..." -- Leroy E. Froom, The Coming of the Comforter, p 39, 40, 56

Although Ellen G. White stated "The nature of the Holy Spirit is a MYSTERY... and silence is golden" (Acts of the Apostles, p. 52), she was inspired to reveal a part of the mystery when she wrote that, "There are three living Persons of the heavenly trio" (Testimonies , Series B, no. 7, p. 62,63), and that men and women were created not only "in the likeness of God...BUT IN FORM AND FEATURE" (Great Controversy, p. 645). These revelations "were squarely against prevailing sentiment...of some of the pioneers of the Advent movement, who were inclined to this impersonal (neuter) idea of an influence, and discounted ...the Trinity." -- The Coming Comforter, p 56.

That the dominant theme in Christendom is about the Holy Spirit, is an index to the times and a confirmation that we are in the age foretold by Joel's vision that "I will pour out my spirit on all flesh" (Joel 2:28). And at what better time to understand the PERSON of the Holy Spirit than when the Spirit is to be received, just as God sent His Son that they might understand His PERSON!

It was no secret that the Jews of the Old Testament or the Jews of today regard the Spirit of the Old Testament Hebrew Bible, the Shekhinah, as FEMININE. NO SECRET is it that ELOHIM is ELOAH - the FEMININE singular for goddess - and the masculine plural ending IYM! No secret was it with Adam and Eve who passed the knowledge of the Holy Spirit Mother to their descendants, even to the Tower of Babel. From thence the knowledge of the HEAVENLY MOTHER was carried to all parts of the earth and INCORPORATED into counterfeit (pagan) forms of worship. Notwithstanding the perversion in paganism of the Heavenly Family of Father, Mother, Son and Daughter, the truth of Their PERSONALITY, nevertheless, was carried on by the chosen of God, and when the Hebrew scriptures were finally written, the SPIRIT appeared AS A FEMININE BEING.

"The understanding of the Holy Spirit as a FEMALE is also Jewish or Semitic." -- New Testament Apocrypha, p. 160.

"It comes as a SHOCK to find the JEWS...with a WOMAN GOD." -- The Hebrew Goddess, Raphael Patai, (cover).

"Whereas the Old Testament prophets had written about the Holy Spirit Mother, Jesus stated that the Spirit would come in His name (1 John 14:26). The Holy Spirit began "to acquire personality expressed in MASCULINE terms. FEMININE ELEMENTS IN THE GODHEAD...(were) receding from Christian doctrine... The INSTRUCTRESS of the Old Testament and Apocrypha has become the INSTRUCTOR (Christ), and the LADY WISDOM is now an attribute of the 'paternal' Christ... In the fragmentary remains of the second century Gospel According to the Hebrews... Jesus speaks of 'My Mother, the Holy Spirit,'... It is true that the Hebrew word for 'spirit' is feminine..." -- Margaret Crook, Woman and Religion, p 158-160

The enemy of Truth tried to cover up the identity of the Holy Spirit Mother and the Holy Ghost Daughter by a perverted emphasis of Christ on the part of theologians, in the early centuries, who disavowed anything Jewish - whether the seventh-day Sabbath, the festal Sabbaths, or the FEMININE RUAH haKodesh - the Holy Spirit. Despite this "cover-up," which did succeed in the greater part of Christendom's history, some faithful Christians still kept alive the truth of the Heavenly Mother!

"But instead of three male personages, as generally represented, a Heavenly FATHER, MOTHER, AND SON would seem more RATIONAL. The FIRST step in the ELEVATION OF WOMAN to her true position... is...the recognition of an IDEAL HEAVENLY MOTHER, to whom their prayers should be addressed, as well as to a Father. If language has any meaning, we have in these texts (Gen. 1:26-28) a PLAIN declaration of the existence of the FEMININE element in the Godhead, equal in power and glory with the masculine. The Heavenly MOTHER and FATHER !" -- Elizabeth Stanton, Women's Bible, p 14

THE SABBATH -- BRIDE, QUEEN, GODDESS

Triumphant over attempts to hide the seventh-day Sabbath truth for centuries, the flickering flame began to leap higher as the Reformation progressed and climaxed with the blazing fire of truth when Ellen G. White was shown in vision the validity of the seventh-day Sabbath. Paralleling this was the truth of the Holy Spirit Mother and the Holy Ghost Daughter, whose earthly children lost sight of Their PERSON until the voice of the SEVENTH ANGEL has begun to sound and the MYSTERY of GOD IS FINISHED, as HE hath DECLARED through HIS SERVANTS the PROPHETS (Rev 10).

The Truth of the seventh-day Sabbath of Creation blended with the truth of the Holy Spirit Mother and the Holy Ghost the Mother of Creation, stand welded together, emerging as the Sabbath - a symbol of the Father's Wife and the Son's Bride - "...the Sabbath ...developed into a FEMALE numen (spirit) and ENDOWED with the character of ...bride, queen, and goddess." -- The Hebrew Goddess, p. 226. Read more on the Sabbath in Appendix B in back of this book.

The Sabbath, as we can see from the above excerpts, has a twofold aspect, male and female. The Sabbath is the Seal of God the Creator and Re-Creator. The Holy Ghost is the Queen, Bride, Matronit of the Sabbath, and Jesus is the King, Bridegroom and Lord of the Sabbath.

Each time we say S-ABBA-th we call out, ABBA - Father. And Each time we call out AB-BA, we are saying AB - Father, but we also call BA - Mother. They are Images of One Another; you can't have One without the Other. So in the name SABBATH we have a male and female aspect depicting our Creator and Re-Creator, our Father and Mother, Jesus and the Holy Ghost, Who are the Images of Their Father and Mother. When we accept and keep the Sabbath holy we receive the SIGN of the Creator - Yeshua and we rest in His Salvation - Yeshuw'ah, Another Creator, Another Comforter (Parent), Another Messiah, Another Member of the God Family, the Holy Ghost.

We must keep the Sabbath in and through the Holy Spirit. This is our true rest, when we give ourselves completely over to Jesus and the Holy Ghost. "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death."

As men and women recognize the Godhead as The Perfect Family -- Father, Mother, Son and Daughter -- and The Perfectly Equal Couple -- the Father and his Wife, the Son and His Bride -- they will cooperate with the Heavenly Family in bringing about equality of male and female in the human family. They will also reap the reward of a beautiful relationship with their family and the Family of God, when keeping holy the seventh-day Sabbath, a symbol of the King and Queen of Heaven and Their Children -- "THE BRANCH HE AND THE BRANCH SHE THE LORDS OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS" (Jeremiah 23:5, 6; 33:15, 16).

"For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory (Divine Mother), to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; that Christ (the Holy Ghost) may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love (Godhead), may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth (the Father), and length (the Mother), and depth (the Son), and height (the Holy Ghost); and to know the love of Christ (through the indwelling of the Holy Ghost), which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God (be filled with the fullness of the God Family bodily as a son and a daughter)." -- Ephesians 3:14-19 (parentheses supplied).

CHAPTER 11:

THE THREEFOLD SEAL OF GOD

This study was written that the reader might search its content with open mind and heart and that the Spirit of Truth would bring understanding and conviction to the sincere follower of Christ Jesus and Christ the Holy Ghost.

It is understood that the content of this study is very controversial, but through prayer, fasting and deep study, the Holy Ghost will make known whether it is truth or error.

The 1888 Message of Christ's Healing Grace, began a revival and a reformation in the SDA church that is to bring purification and power to those that remain and are not shaken out by "the straight testimony called forth by the counsel of the True Witness to the Laodiceans" (Early Writings, p. 270).

The message of the Righteousness of Christ has been preached for 104 years and still has not brought purification nor the impartation of power to the church. Is this Message false and/or outdated? No, a thousand times, no! Then it must still be incomplete. More light, "advanced light" on the subject of the nature of Christ and His Righteousness needs to be given to fulfill the prophecy and lighten the whole earth with His Glory.

This "straight testimony will have its affect upon the heart of the receiver, and will lead him to exalt the standard and pour forth the straight truth. Some will not bear the straight testimony. They will rise up against it, and this is what will cause a shaking among God's people" (EW p. 270).

The SDA denomination claims to have the everlasting gospel as depicted by the three angels' messages of Revelation chapter 14. Yet, inspiration tells us:

"Then I saw another mighty angel commissioned to descend to the earth, to UNITE HIS VOICE WITH THE THIRD ANGEL, AND GIVE POWER AND FORCE TO HIS MESSAGE. GREAT POWER AND GLORY WERE IMPARTED TO THE ANGEL, AND AS HE DESCENDED, THE EARTH WAS LIGHTENED WITH HIS GLORY." -- Early Writings, p 277

Inspiration continues to state the following:

"This message seemed to be an ADDITION TO THE THIRD MESSAGE.... THE GLORY OF GOD RESTED UPON THE PATIENT, WAITING SAINTS." -- Early Writings, p 278

This message swells into a loud cry, calling those caught up in the falsehoods of Babylon the Great, to COME OUT OF HER, into THE PURE CHURCH OF THE HOLY GHOST, THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY, THE BRIDE OF CHRIST. THIS CHURCH/WOMAN WILL GO FORTH CONQUERING AND TO CONQUER.

The latter rain outpouring of advanced light will bring much understanding and power to the REMNANT of HER SEED, and they will know the truth and be able to keep ALL the commandments of God since they will have the Living Spirit of Prophecy, the Holy Ghost dwelling in their midst.

Inspiration makes this statement:

"I was pointed down to the time when the third angel's message was closing. The power of God had rested upon His people; they had accomplished their work and were prepared for the trying hour before them. They had received the latter rain, or refreshing (revival and reformation) from the presence (Christ's Glory, the Holy Ghost) of the Lord, and the living testimony (Spirit of Prophecy) had been revived. The last great warning had sounded everywhere, and it had stirred up and enraged the inhabitants of the earth who would not receive the message (of the Godhead)." -- Early Writings, p 279

THE SEALING ANGEL

"An angel with a writer's inkhorn by his side returned from the earth and reported to Jesus that his work was done, and the saints were numbered and sealed. Then I saw Jesus, ...throw down the censer. He raised His hands, and with a loud voice said, 'It is done... He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.'

"Every case had been decided for life or death. While Jesus had been ministering in the sanctuary, the judgment had been going on for the righteous dead, and then for the righteous living.... As Jesus moved out of the most holy place... there was then no mediator between man and an offended God... and now there was no atoning blood to cleanse the guilty, no compassionate Saviour to plead for them... In that fearful time, after the close of Jesus' mediation, the saints were living in the sight of a holy God without an intercessor. Every case was decided, every jewel numbered. Jesus tarried in the outer apartment of the heavenly sanctuary..." -- Early Writings, p 279-281

The Angel returned after he had sealed and numbered the saints. He had a writer's inkhorn by his side. Could it be that this angel wrote the seven thunders given to John in Revelation chapter 10, and they were given as the sealing message for the saints as an addition to the third angels message? This Angel can be none other than the Messenger of the Covenant, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Fourth Angel/Member of the Godhead who comes to lighten the whole earth with His, Christ's Glory, in Truth and in Power. The Holy Ghost leads us into all truth and righteousness, sealing us unto salvation.

THE JUDGMENT AND THE HARVEST

Since all the saints are sealed and numbered, Jesus declares that His blood ministration is finished and no longer needed. He then puts on His garments of vengeance and sits on His Throne of Judgment to judge His church first, then the inhabitants of the earth. All in the church are sealed. They will bear fruit of righteousness if they are wheat or fruit of unrighteousness if they are tares. The latter rain bolts the grain to bring forth fruit and ripens it for harvest. The same rain ripens the tares as it ripens the wheat. All are to grow together until the harvest. Then and only then will the fruit of their character be revealed. It is at this time that the separation in the church takes place; the wheat from the tares, the sheep from the goats, the righteous from the unrighteous.

While Jesus sits as Judge over His Church, He pours out His Spirit on all flesh as a latter rain message of Truth. Unto those that receive this message of Truth, He will pour out His Spirit and impart His power of righteousness. This straight Testimony of the True Witness, the Holy Ghost, will cause a shaking; a separation of the wheat from the tares and a purification in the church.

The Lord said, "Let both grow together until the harvest, then, I will send My angels (messengers with messages) to gather them." It is the Revelation 18:1 ANGEL of the LORD that is in charge of the work of harvest. She will reveal Herself in the last message to the Church and the world. She will be the only Intercessor left between God and man. If Her work of Intercession is rejected, there is no other means by which we can be cleansed from our sin and uncleanness. It is through the impartation of Christ's power of righteousness, the Holy Ghost, that we keep all His commandments, and put on His robe of righteousness, the garment of His Glory.

"Then will I sprinkle clean water (water of separation - symbol of Holy Ghost) upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God." -- Ezekiel 36:25-28

"The last tear for sinners had been shed, the last agonizing prayer offered, the last burden borne, the last warning given. The SWEET VOICE OF MERCY was no more to invite them. When the saints and all of heaven were interested for their salvation, they had no interest for themselves. Life and death had been set before them. Many desired life but made no effort to obtain it. They did not choose life, and now there was no atoning blood to cleanse the guilty. All heaven had united with Jesus, as they heard the fearful words, 'It is done. It is finished.' The plan of salvation had been accomplished, but few had chosen to accept it. And MERCY'S SWEET VOICE died away, fear and horror seized the wicked. With terrible distinctness they heard the words, "Too late! Too late!" -- Early Writings, p 281

THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST THROUGH HIS GLORY

The whole Bible is a revelation of Jesus Christ. "Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God." Heb 10:7. The last book of the Bible is entitled, "The Revelation of Jesus Christ", and begins with the following words:

" The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw." -- Revelation 1:1, 2

The full revelation of Jesus Christ was given to John by the ANGEL of the LORD. John recorded what he saw describing the WORD of God, Jesus Christ, and His Testimony which is the Spirit of Prophecy, or Jesus Christ the Holy Ghost. In other words, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Holy Ghost, the Angel of the Lord, came to John to reveal Jesus Christ as the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

"And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not. And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer: but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets." -- Revelation 10:4-7

This ANGEL stands on the land and the sea symbolizing that the whole earth is lightened or covered by Her glory or sealing message. The ANGEL swares by the Creator, Jesus Christ that there is time no longer - the sealing is finished, no more blood ministration. In the seventh or last seal, the Voice of the Seventh Angel (the Holy Ghost) reveals the Mystery of the God Family and the mystery of godliness. She reveals the fullness of the character of Jesus Christ as the Alpha and the Omega, the Author and Finisher of our salvation, the fullness of the Godhead in one body. She comes to lighten the whole earth with the revelation of the Second Adam and His glorious Helpmate.

THE THREEFOLD SEAL OF GOD

"The 144,000 were sealed and perfectly united. On their foreheads was written, God, New Jerusalem, and a glorious star containing Jesus's New Name." -- Early Writings, p 15

When the Threefold Seal -- God, New Jerusalem, and a Glorious Star containing Jesus' New Name -- is combined with the truths revealed in Revelation Chapter 14, a very enlightening study develops. It outlines the fullness of the Godhead through the different aspects of Christ's character and position as the Son of God and the Son of man -- the Second Adam, the Creator and the Re-creator.

Let us compare the Three Angels' Messages with the Threefold Seal in the light of the "Mystery of the God" being finished/revealed. In point form they are:

1) GOD -- The Father, the Creator -- Jesus Christ created all things. He is the Alpha, the Author, the Creator and our Everlasting Father. "If you have seen Me you have seen the Father. I and the Father are One." (John 14). He is not only the Express Image of His Father, but, He is the Creator and the Father of mankind.

2) NEW JERUSALEM -- The Mother, The Re-Creator -- Another Comforter in My name (Jesus Christ); Another Parent, Another Adam, the Second Adam's Eve, the Daughter of the Jerusalem above. She is the Omega, the Finisher, the Re-Creator, Christ the Holy Ghost, the Mother of All Living (those born of the His Spirit). Christ in you, the hope of glory. The Daughter is not only the Express Image of Her Divine Mother, but She is the Mother of All Re-Created Beings in the universe.

3) A GLORIOUS STAR CONTAINING JESUS' NEW NAME -- The Star of David, will contain His New Name Solomon - Melchizedek, King of Peace -- and this Seal of Solomon will be a symbol of His Authority and Kingdom when He marries His Sister and Bride, the Holy Ghost, Shulamite, the Daughter of David. MELCHIZEDEK means both King and Queen of righteousness and peace. Therefore, this Glorious Star will contain His and Her New Name, King and Queen of Peace and will be the Seal of Their Glorious Kingdom Family.

THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS IN REVELATION CHAPTER 14

1) GOD -- THE CREATOR

"And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters." -- Revelation 14:6,7

WORSHIP GOD -- HE THAT MADE HEAVEN AND EARTH -- CHRIST OUR LORD; for the HOUR of HIS JUDGMENT HAS COME. Christ the High Priest becomes a Judge, and He comes to Judge His Church after He ceases His blood ministration in the Heavenly Sanctuary. All in His earthly Body of Believers have been sealed; some unto righteousness and others unto unrighteousness. He comes to the earth on His Judicial Throne to give to them their just reward.

2) NEW JERUSALEM -- THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

"And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication." -- Revelation 14:8

THE NEW JERUSALEM -- THE BRIDE OF CHRIST IS REVEALED IN HER FULLNESS. Jesus ceases His blood ministration in the Heavenly Sanctuary and establishes His Judicial Throne in the earth. Pouring out His Spirit upon the church, He separates the saints from the sinners, and the Holy Ghost purifies and empowers His Body Temple. Babylon the Great, the mother of harlots falls because her blood covering has been taken away at the change of Christ's ministration. Her abominations will not stand when the whole earth is lightened by the last great message about the Bride of Christ, the Holy Ghost, the Mother of All Living. The Pure Woman calls to Her children to come out from among unholy and unrighteous into Her purified Church Family.

3) A GLORIOUS STAR -- THE STAR OF DAVID -- SOLOMON'S SEAL

"And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: and the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." -- Revelation 14:9, 10

THE TRUE SEAL OF GOD -- SOLOMON'S SEAL -- A GLORIOUS STAR CONTAINING JESUS THE CREATOR'S AND JESUS THE RECREATOR'S NEW NAME - EXPOSES THE FALSE MARK OF THE FALSE KING SATAN.

This SEAL or ENSIGN depicts the Heavenly and the earthly House of David as ONE FAMILY. SOLOMON BEN DAVID, THE SON OF GOD, THE PRINCE OF PEACE reveals that HE HAS COME WHOSE RIGHT IT IS TO RULE THE KINGDOM OF GOD UNDER THE WHOLE HEAVEN. HE ESTABLISHES HIS KINGDOM OF GLORY, MADE UP OF THE GLORIFIED REDEEMED, LIVING AND DEAD.

THE SABBATH SEAL

"The Sabbath is not introduced as a new institution but as having been founded at creation. It is to be remembered and observed as the memorial of the Creator's work. Pointing to God as the Maker of the heavens and the earth, it distinguishes the true God from all false gods. All who keep the seventh day signify this act that they are worshippers of Jehovah. Thus the Sabbath is the sign of man's allegiance to God as long as there are any upon the earth to serve Him. The fourth commandment is the only one of the ten in which are found both the name and the title of the Lawgiver. It is the only one that shows by whose authority the law is given. Thus it contains the seal of God, affixed to His law as evidence of its authenticity and binding force." -- Patriarchs and Prophets p 307

The KINGDOM is legally set up in the earth when the KING SITS ON HIS THRONE OF JUDGMENT AND PRESENTS HIS SEAL WITH HIS NAME IN IT. All that accept Him and receive the THREEFOLD SEAL IN THEIR FOREHEADS or believe in the threefold truth it contains will be clothed in His glorious robe of righteousness by the Holy Ghost and inducted into HIS GLORIOUS KINGDOM CHURCH FAMILY.

The Beast system of government of course will accept all those who receive not the SEAL OF GOD, but instead, the mark of the beast. The ROYAL HOUSE OF DAVID, UNDER THE REIGN OF KING SOLOMON the SON of GOD will ultimately consume this beast system. Satan's kingdom will be obliterated by the rightful owner and Creator of this earth. It is the only planet that is not completely inhabited by the Righteous Family of God.

THE REST OF THE STORY

As Seventh-day Adventists we only look at the first three angels in this chapter to substantiate and uphold our reason for being a denomination. We need to preach the gospel in its fullness! Or better said, " We need to preach Jesus Christ as the fullness of the Godhead bodily". Let us look at the remainder of the chapter to see what the other angels or messengers with messages are revealing to us about Jesus Christ.

"All classes of second advent believers agree, that the angel brought to view in the 6th, and 7th verses of this chapter (Revelation Chapter 14), represents the advent message, to the church and the world. If this is true, then ALL FIVE OF THE ANGELS brought to view in this chapter, represent FIVE DISTINCT MESSAGES, PRIOR TO THE ADVENT, or we are left without a rule to interpret this chapter....The last two messages are messages of prayer. We shall, no doubt, better understand them at the time of their fulfillment." -- A Word To the Little Flock, p 10, 11, Article entitled, Thoughts on Revelation 14 by James White, endorsed by Ellen G. White.

ONE LIKE UNTO THE SON OF MAN, HAVING A GOLDEN CROWN AND A SHARP SICKLE

"And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle." Revelation 14:14

The Son of Man, the Second Adam, the Man Whose Name is the Branch (Zechariah 6:12, 13), the Son of the Heavenly David, has received His CROWN OF GLORY, HIS BRIDE, THE HOLY GHOST and a KINGDOM.

HE shall BUILD THE TEMPLE of the LORD the HOLY GHOST out of LIVELY STONES which have been hewed and squared BY HIS OWN HANDS through the INTERCESSION OF HIS BLOOD. But, these stones must now be sanctified and purified through the SPRINKLING OF THE WATER OF SEPARATION THROUGH THE INTERCESSION OF THE HOLY GHOST, THE FINISHER OF HIS WORK OF RIGHTEOUSNESS. She must cleanse HER HOUSE or dwelling place made up of lively stones, earthen vessels.

In this verse we see the Son of Man sitting upon a cloud, HIS JUDGMENT THRONE, with a GOLDEN CROWN signifying that He has been CROWNED with GLORY and HONOR - MARRIED TO THE HOLY GHOST - and HE has a SHARP SICKLE in His hand signifying that He has an INSTRUMENT or MESSAGE to HARVEST or REAP (the firstfruits in the Church in the earth, prophetic USA). The Firstfruit Harvest is made up of two sections or increments, 1) the Barley Harvest comprised of First of the Firstfruits, the Wavesheaf of Barley and then the rest of the BaS. the Wheat Harvest comprised of the Firstfruits, the Waveloaves a thank offering and then the rest of the Wheat. As the Wavesheaf and the 120 were a type nineteen centuries ago, their antitype will be fulfilled in the latter day harvest. The antitypical Wavesheaf of the living and the 144,000 living saints will be offered as the thank offerings of the First Fruit (grain) Harvest of Israelites.

THE MESSAGE this ANGEL BRINGS to JUDGE the CHURCH is about the SON of GOD RECEIVING HIS GLORY, A CROWN, A BRIDE, A KINGDOM, A CHURCH, HIS SECOND SELF, THE HOLY GHOST. Those that receive the THREEFOLD SEAL will be REAPED and placed into the BARN, KINGDOM, CHURCH, the BODY of CHRIST - the LIVELY TEMPLE of the HOLY GHOST.

ANOTHER ANGEL COMES OUT OF THE TEMPLE

"And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped." -- Revelation 14:15, 16

This ANGEL comes out of the Sanctuary - a feminine symbol - signifying a feminine Messenger with a Message about ANOTHER COMFORTER (PARENT), ANOTHER ADAM, ANOTHER WOMAN, THE DAUGHTER OF JERUSALEM, THE HOLY GHOST. SHE tells HER PARTNER ON THE CLOUD, that HER WORK, THE LATTER RAIN has RIPENED the GRAIN and that the HARVEST of the EARTH is RIPE. SHE CRIES WITH A LOUD VOICE - THE LOUD CRY MESSAGE - "THRUST in THY SICKLE, and REAP, for the TIME has come for THEE to REAP, for the HARVEST of the EARTH is RIPE". SHE has RIPENED the GRAIN and SHE KNOWS the TIME of HARVEST.

The female has a built in biological clock to know the time and she is governed by time and rules over it. Mother nature's time clock is God's time piece. When the HOLY GHOST HAS MADE ALL THINGS READY, SHE TELLS GOD'S SON SOLOMON TO REAP and bring the GUESTS to THEIR MARRIAGE SUPPER. HE JUDGES the CHURCH of the FIRSTBORN - THE ISRAEL of GOD - and then the GENTILE WORLD.

Now we have a complete picture of the MALE and FEMALE MESSIAH, SACRIFICE, INTERCESSOR, BRIDEGROOM and BRIDE, the SECOND ADAM and EVE. What a Glorious Message! These TWO ANGELS, CHRIST and the HOLY GHOST, work together bringing the MESSAGE of SOLOMON the PRINCE and KING of the KINGDOM of PEACE and GLORY. The SONG of SOLOMON tells us that SOLOMON'S SISTER IS HIS BRIDE. Therefore, THEY have a TWOFOLD MESSAGE about SOLOMON (male and female), and LIGHTEN the WHOLE EARTH with THEIR GLORIOUS MESSAGE and THEIR GLORIOUS KINGDOM of PEACE and RIGHTEOUSNESS.

ANOTHER ANGEL CAME OUT OF THE TEMPLE

"And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle." -- Revelation 14:17

This OTHER ANGEL, the HOLY GHOST, has a SICKLE or MESSAGE for the SECOND FRUITS in the world. It is the SAME MESSAGE of the BRIDE and MOTHER OF ALL LIVING, but this time it is for the GENTILES in the world. Those that receive this MESSAGE of the HOLY GHOST will be gathered OUT of BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS, BY the PURE WOMAN into the PURE CHURCH.

ANOTHER ANGEL CAME OUT FROM THE ALTAR

"And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs." -- Revelation 14:18-20

This signifies that the HOLY GHOST who stands at the ALTAR of INCENSE in the SANCTUARY (She takes our prayers with groanings that cannot be uttered and intercedes as they rise like a sweet smelling savour before our Judge, Jesus Christ), tells the ANGEL with the SHARP SICKLE to REAP the CLUSTERS of the VINE -- Second Fruits -- of the earth. This begins the JUDGMENT of the LIVING in the GENTILE WORLD. The MESSAGE of CHRIST and the HOLY GHOST will be presented to the WORLD. Those that accept CHRIST and the HOLY GHOST as their Creators and Re-Creators, their Father and Mother, will inherit the KINGDOM and be ADOPTED and GRAFTED INTO the FAMILY TREE. If they refuse this LAST MESSAGE of MERCY THEY ARE LEFT WITHOUT A COVERING and are DEALT WITH ACCORDINGLY.

THE KINGDOM CHURCH

The Kingdom Church is represented by a King, the Man Whose Name is Branch, Solomon ben David, and a Queen, the Woman Whose Name is Branch, Shulamite bat David. TWO BRANCHES, of the TREE of LIFE, Two BRANCHES of the RIVER of LIFE, EVERGROWING and EVERFLOWING in the earth (Jeremiah 23:5, 6; 33:15, 16; Ezekiel 47). THEY will conduct the JUDGMENT and the HARVEST, first in the CHURCH and then in the WORLD.

THE DAUGHTER OF JERUSALEM AND ZION IN THE LAST DAYS

"But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem." -- Micah 4:1, 2

"But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it. In that day, saith the LORD, will I assemble her that halteth, and I will gather her that is driven out, and her that I have afflicted;" -- Micah 4:4, 6

"And I will make her that halted a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation: and the LORD shall reign over them in mount Zion from henceforth, even for ever. And thou, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem. Now why dost thou cry out aloud? is there no king in thee? is thy counsellor perished? for pangs have taken thee as a woman in travail." -- Micah 4:7-9

"Be in pain, and labor to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies. Now also many nations are gathered against thee, that say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion." -- Micah 4:10, 11

"But they know not the thoughts of the LORD, neither understand they his counsel: for he shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor. Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth." -- Micah 4:12, 13

THE HOUSE OF DAVID SHALL AGAIN BE IN ZION

"In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them." -- Zechariah 12:8. The HOUSE of DAVID shall be as the ANGEL(S) of the LORD(S). Whatever shall be bound on earth shall be bound in Heaven, and whatever is loosed on earth shall be loosed in Heaven.

"Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; a day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them." -- Joel 2:1-3

"Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness. They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run up wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief." -- Joel 2:6, 9

"The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining: and the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?" -- Joel 2:10, 11

"Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: and rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil." -- Joel 2:12, 13

" Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:" (Day of Atonement) Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet." (Feast of Tabernacles - Marriage Reception) -- Joel 2:15, 16

"Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?" -- Joel 2:17

"Then will the LORD be jealous for his land, and pity his people. Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, (an abundance of present truth) and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:" -- Joel 2:18, 19

"Fear not, O land (in Israel); be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things. Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength." -- Joel 2:21, 22

"Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month." (Former truth of Christ and the Latter Truth of Christ the Holy Ghost come in the first month, at the time the Mighty Angel will Passover all those that have received this message and have cleansed their hearts of leaven and are eating the Lord's Supper, "not with old leaven but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth." 1 Corinthians 5:7, 8. Those that do not partake worthily of the Lord's Sacrament will be cut off, and separated from the true Israel of God.) -- Joel 2:23

"And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil." (abundance of Truth) And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you." (the years under Satan's yoke) And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed." -- Joel 2:24-26

"And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed. And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:" (Many true prophets in the land of Israel) -- Joel 2:27, 28

"And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come." -- Joel 2:29-31

"And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call." (Christ shall Judge the world from His Judicial Throne, the Ark of the Covenant, on Mount Zion in Jerusalem) -- Joel 2:32

"For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land." -- Joel 3:1, 2

"Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompense? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompense upon your own head; because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things:" -- Joel 3:4, 5

"The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border. Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them, and will return your recompense upon your own head:" -- Joel 3:6, 7

"And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the LORD hath spoken it." -- Joel 3:8

"Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up: beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong." -- Joel 3:9, 10

"Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD. Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about." -- Joel 3:11, 12

"Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the vats overflow; for their wickedness is great. Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision." (Judgment for the living in the world before the millennium. They still need to decide life or death; their probation has not yet closed) -- Joel 3:13, 14

"The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel." -- Joel 3:16

"So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more." (No sinners) -- Joel 3:17

"And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shittim." (The Fountain of Living Waters Ezekiel chapter 47) -- Joel 3:18

"But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation. For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion." -- Joel 3:20, 21

A PHYSICAL AND A SPIRITUAL KINGDOM

He will cleanse the sins of the Jews that finally receive Him as Messiah when He pours out His Shekhinah Glory upon the House of Israel. The Glorious Presence will be visibly seen in their midst over the Ark of the Covenant, the Earthly Throne of the Son and Daughter of Heavenly David, in Zion - the City of the Great King.

From Zion shall go forth the Law and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem. The Kingdom and the Glory of the Kingdom will be seen by all nations as a light upon a hill. These Gentile nations will come up to the mountain of the Lord to learn His ways and become part of the Kingdom of Peace and Glory. After all the fruit of the Harvest of Souls have been gathered in to the Kingdom or Garner of God, then destruction and death will come to all who refuse Salvation. The Lords of Hosts will then take Their trophies to heaven for the millennial rest.

After the millennium the New Jerusalem will descend upon the earth. Satan will be loosed from his chains and the wicked of all ages will be resurrected. Satan will rally all the wicked to come up to take the New Jerusalem. Jesus and the Holy Ghost will then devour the unrighteous, root and branch. They will receive the second death. Then a New Heavens and a New earth will be created where all the righteous will live with Christ and the Holy Ghost in their midst. Praise ye the Lords of Hosts forever more!!!!

  CHAPTER 12 :

MARY MAGDALENE AND THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY

"Divine power is placed upon man (woman), having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. This is why repenting, believing man (woman) can be made the righteousness of God in Christ." -- 1 Selected Messages, p 256

Mary Magdalene was the Saviour's closest companion and disciple on earth. It was she who, though degraded by Satan through men who professed to represent the Image of God in the earth, was made perfect in Him, the Second Adam.

She reflected His pure and sinless nature from which a stream of love and mercy flowed for the fallen race. No sacrifice nor act of kindness was too great for her Lord. It was she who anointed His head for burial and washed His feet with her tears of repentance and dried them with her hair in a pure and holy act of love and gratitude (John 12:3). She became a perfect helpmeet in His ministry to the sick and dying.

It was she who sat at His feet to drink of the "living water" while others were pre-occupied with their daily cares. She was among the last to leave the scene of His dying agony and the very last to leave His tomb. She was also the first disciple to whom He spoke after the resurrection, and before His ascension to Heaven. Hers was the FIRST experience in re-discovery of her missing Lord and she hastened to deliver the resurrection message to the other disciples (John 20:18).

The pure and holy sex-free relationship between Mary and the Second Adam was an example for those who overcome the world, the flesh, and the devil through the power of the Holy Ghost in the NEW BIRTH experience.

Ironically, it was at the House of Simon, who was guilty of degrading Mary, that she sought to demonstrate her deep love and devotion to the One Who had rescued and made her whole again. She alone of the disciples understood by the power of the Holy Ghost His words about His approaching death. The others were preparing to set Him on the throne as King. Distrusting her own understanding, and for joy at such a thought, Mary broke her alabaster box of precious ointment and poured it upon His head and feet, the fragrance of which filled the house.

It was not strange, then, that the two greatest sinners at the feast, Simon and Judas, were the first to accuse her of being extravagant, hopelessly sinful, unworthy to even touch her Lord: Simon, a church leader, cured of his dreaded disease of leprosy (regarded as the curse of sin, a living death) by the One Who had delivered Mary from his corrupting enslavement and Judas, one of the twelve church leaders, the thief of the funds for the needs of the disciples and the poor. Their artful and cunning criticism of her sacrificial generosity toward her Deliverer infected all the disciples with the same spirit, EVEN TO DOUBT HIS DIVINITY (the Working of the Holy Ghost through Him).

The Master, knowing her motive, explained to her in their presence the meaning of her act and tactfully rebuked Simon and Judas (His only rebuke to Judas).

"Mary knew not the full significance of her deed of love. She could not answer her accusers. She could not explain why she had chosen that occasion for anointing Jesus. THE HOLY SPIRIT PLANNED FOR HER, and she had obeyed His (Her) promptings. INSPIRATION STOOPS TO GIVE NO REASON. An unseen presence, it (She) speaks to the mind and soul, and moves the heart to action. It is its (Her) own justification." -- Desire of Ages, p 560

Mary was crowned with the gift of inspiration as an earnest (token) of forgiveness for past sins and was elevated by One in Whom dwelt all the fullness (Holy Spirit) of the Godhead bodily.

"Christ told Mary the meaning of her act, and in this He gave her MORE than He received. 'In that she hath poured this ointment on My body,' He said, 'she did it for My burial.'...'Verily I say unto you (the men, His disciples)...'Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a MEMORIAL of her.'...

"And the Holy Spirit mentions, as evidences of woman's loyalty to Christ: 'If she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.' 1 Timothy 5:10." (Mary was the first and only disciple recorded to wash Jesus' feet representing the higher cleansing of the Holy Ghost)....

"It was the love of Christ (the Shekhinah) that constrained her. The matchless excellence of the character of Christ filled her soul. That ointment was a SYMBOL of the HEART of the GIVER (the heart of Christ - filled with His Love and Mercy -- the Angel of Mercy). It was the outward demonstration of a love fed by heavenly streams (two - Yeshua and Yeshuw'ah) until it overflowed. (John 19:34).

"The work of Mary was just the lesson the disciples needed to show them that the expression of their love for Him would be pleasing to Christ." -- The Desire of Ages, p 560, 563, 564, 565.

MARY'S ACT IN LIGHT OF THE ATONEMENT

To the professed followers of this Second Adam, a message is conveyed teaching the same lesson today.

"Looking into the future, the Saviour spoke with certainty concerning HIS GOSPEL. It was to be preached throughout the whole world. And as far as the gospel extended, Mary's gift would shed its fragrance, and hearts would be blessed through her unstudied act (that which the Holy Spirit inspired her to perform even at the risk of criticism).

"...this woman's deed would be immortalized upon the pages of sacred history. UNTIL TIME (probationary) SHOULD BE NO MORE, that BROKEN ALABASTER BOX would tell the STORY of the ABUNDANT LOVE of GOD for a FALLEN RACE." -- Desire of Ages, p 563

Through His Grace Mary Magdalene was the first sinner to partake of His Divine Nature (the power of His Holy Shekhinah) in the flesh and become a type of ANOTHER WOMAN -- The SHEKHINAH, the Mother of All Living, the Pure Woman or Church -- who would rise above the pollution of sin and transgression and the censure and criticism of the professed followers of God to become, in a very special sense, a Constant Companion, a Comforter, a Helpmate to the Redeemer as an Intercessor and the Spirit of Prophecy. Mary Magdalene was a type of the Church, Another Woman the Daughter of the Jerusalem above.

Let us now take a deeper look at this MOST PRECIOUS and SUBLIME ACT and see its spiritual significance as it relates to Present Truth and the finishing up of the Atonement, the plan of redemption found in the gospel, the PLAN OF SALVATION.

MARY MAGDALENE, A TYPE OF THE CHURCH

Mary was a young, pure, chaste Jewish girl. While she was still a young virgin, Simon, a Pharisee and church leader, had seduced her and corrupted her purity. As she tried to recover from this unspeakable incident she grew up with confused and mixed feelings toward men, especially those that were of the clergy. Her hatred toward such hypocrites led her into a life of rebellion and sin, becoming a nymphomaniac. Eventually, she was possessed with seven devils. She saw herself as a complete failure and was unable to control her tendency to gratify the lust of the flesh. She fell deeper into sin and despair.

When we see Mary as a type of the Church, we can see how the pure unadulterated truth the Church had in her beginning was corrupted by the very men that were her leaders. The priesthood became corrupt in their dealings with the Church (congregation) and seduced her with their lies, fulfilling their own fleshly lust for power and gain. The Spirit of Prophecy was no longer heeded and the works of the Shekhinah were profaned by the ideas and interpretations of men who strive for power and wealthy gain. The woman's purity was corrupted by the unsatiable lust of her spiritual leaders.

MARY WAS POSSESSED OF SEVEN DEVILS

The counsel that is given to the seven churches in Revelation are seven different devils or sins that the growing Church had experienced, mainly through her leadership. These sins can be listed as follows:

1) Ephesus -- "I have this against you that you have left your first love." -- Revelation 2:4

2) Smyrna -- "I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are of the synagogue of Satan." -- Revelation 2:9

3) Pergamos -- "But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication." -- Revelation 2:14

4) Thyatira -- "Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols." -- Revelation 2:20

5) Sardis -- " Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee." -- Revelation 3:2-3

6) Philadelphia -- Here we see that the Lord has made a way for her to be redeemed; He rebukes those leaders that are not of God, but of the synagogue of Satan. " I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee." -- Revelation 3:8-9

7) Laodicea -- "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and po or, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see." -- Revelation 3:15-18

When the Saviour came into Mary's life He forgave her her sins and prayed for her seven times that the seven devils controlling her life would leave her alone. His prayers empowered her with the indwelling of His Spirit and her purity and dignity were restored.

Mary saw the power of His love resurrect her brother Lazarus from the grave and heal Simon the leper from a living death. She recognized her life of sin and death and cried out in repentance unto her Saviour to take away her sin and guilt and mend her heart broken with the distrust of the leading men and the despair of her hopelessness. With His Spirit of Grace and His Righteous Love He raised her to newness of life, renewing her mind and washing her heart in the stream of living waters flowing from the Seat of Mercy in His very being; baptizing her in His Righteousness with His Spirit.

THE ALABASTER BOX CONTAINED A MOST PRECIOUS OINTMENT

Mary (the Church) recognized what a wonderfully glorious unselfish act her Saviour had come to earth to perform on her behalf. Her spirit was overwhelmed with love and gratitude toward the Source of Life and her heart was constrained to show her affection for Him. But what do you give to the Creator and Redeemer of your soul? Mary willed to do what she could in love and gratitude for her Lord and Master. She was inspired to buy a costly alabaster box containing "a most precious ointment".

The American Heritage Dictionary states: "al-a-bas-ter noun. A dense, translucent, white or tinted fine-grained gypsum. [Egypt 'a-la-Baste, " vessel of (the goddess) Baste"].

Smith's Bible Dictionary states: "Alabaster, from the Arabic al bastraton, a whitish stone, or from Alabastron, the place in Egypt where it is found.... The ancients considered alabaster to be the best material in which to preserve their ointments. The Oriental alabaster (referred to in the Bible) is a translucent carbonate of lime formed on the floor of limestone caves by the percolation of water."

The alabaster box was made of a white earthen material. It symbolized the Saviour's pure righteous humanity. Within this vessel was contained the "precious ointment" signifying His indwelling Divinity, the Shekhinah -- the indwelling Goddess. The Second Adam, Yeshua the Messiah was the alabaster box, "the vessel of the Goddess."

Inspiration states:

"As the alabaster box was broken, and filled the whole house with its fragrance, so Christ was to die, His body was to be broken; but He was to rise from the tomb, and the FRAGRANCE OF HIS LIFE (THE SHEKHINAH) was to FILL the EARTH (lighten the whole earth with His Glory). Christ 'hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savor.' Ephesians 5:2." -- Desire of Ages, p 563

THE HOLY SPIRIT'S SUBLIME ACT

Mary, acting under the direction of the Holy Spirit took the alabaster box and broke it, pouring its precious contents upon the head and feet of her Saviour; then, as she knelt weeping, moistening them with her tears, she wiped His feet with her long, flowing hair. This act of anointing the Messiah and washing His feet pointed forward to not only His death and burial but also His resurrection. Mary acted out the part the Shekhinah was to play in cleansing the Lamb from all the sins humanity (the church) placed upon Him and caused His eternal death. After the Second Adam finished His sacrificial act and gave up His Spirit, the Shekhinah, His Divine Presence offered His blood before the Father and Mother in Heaven as a sweet smelling savor, "a most precious ointment" Whose fragrance filled the Most Holy Place in the Heavenly Sanctuary. On the morrow after the weekly Sabbath the Shekhinah returned to His earthly tomb (alabaster box) to break it and release His anointed body from the prison house of sin and death.

The tears that Mary shed represented the love of the Holy Spirit, an everflowing stream of living water that flows from Her Heart of Mercy on behalf of Her children to cleanse them from sin and uncleanness. The Shekhinah wept over Yeshua, the Lover of Her Soul, Who was separated from Her because of the sins of humanity. She wept with Him as He died of a broken heart. He believed that our sins would separate Them for all eternity. Our Creator took the second death on our behalf. What manner of love is this? The human mind cannot fathom its depth and beauty. This is the mystery of godliness, the plan for our salvation; the Story of Redemption; the Story of the Re-Creation, mankind At-One-Ment with God. Only a love for the Saviour as was expressed by Mary Magdalene can bring us to even begin to understand the price that was paid by the Godhead to redeem and restore mankind in Their Image and Likeness.

THE BRIDEGROOM AND HIS BRIDE

When we realize how great was the sacrifice the Creator made to restore to the Woman (Church) her purity and dignity, we will see the fullness of the Gospel and the finishing of the Atonement as a beautiful Love Story of the Bridegroom and His Bride. Yeshua came to cleanse the Church (Jewish) of her fornications and idolatry (seven devils) that She might be purified and receive Him as the Lover of Her Soul.

The Church leaders up until the Saviour's time had used and abused Her for their own gain and She was under their control. Yeshua released Her from this bondage of sin and barrenness and took the reins of leadership into His Own hands, setting up the pure Apostolic Church at His resurrection with the Wavesheaf. The Shekhinah raised Him and the other witnesses from death, thereby, re-establishing a Her purity and taking the responsibility of Her own future.

Since then the Church experienced the sins (seven devils) brought out in Revelation and we find ourselves plagued with the last devil in the church of Laodicea.

We find that the leadership rejected the sublime demonstration of Mary's love for her Lord and said it was an extravagant display and that she was wasting that "most precious ointment".

History is repeating itself. Is this not what the leadership of Laodicea said in 1888 when "a most precious message" came to a woman disciple, Ellen White, about the Healing Grace of the Saviour? When she endorsed this message and saw the purity and beauty of her Lord's character she was ridiculed and criticized by the majority in the leadership at that time.

Since this message is to be repeated by the Revelation 18:1 Angel and is to fill the whole earth with His Glorious Fragrance, let us pray that the Simons and Judases of today realize Who this Woman is of Whom Mary was a type and what Her work is in the finishing up of the gospel message, the good news of the Atonement. Let us pray that they see this Woman as the Shekhinah, His Divine Presence, Who comes to impart the robe of His Righteous Character to a repentant and appreciative body of believers. If the leaders criticize this Woman -- the Shekhinah -- for Her sublime act of cleansing and glorifying the Body of His Believers, Yeshua as Judge and King will not only spew them out of His mouth, but the Holy Spirit will surely take their life from them as She did to Annanias ans Saphira when they lied to Her. Thus the Church, the Woman, will purify Herself from sinners and the unclean.

Woe unto the leaders who trust in their own reasoning and hear not what the Spirit of Prophecy is saying unto them. Simon humbled himself and he did repent of his pride. And so did all the disciples saving one, Judas Iscariot, who betrayed his Lord and sinned against the Holy Ghost. Woe unto those who would rather be clothed with worldly riches and honor than the glorious robe of Righteousness.

May the Lords of Hosts renew our minds and regenerate our hearts that we might corporately repent of the abominations done in our own lives and have our sin and uncleanness removed, so that our Father and Mother, the Creator, Yeshua and His Shekhinah, will be united with Their righteous children. Amen and Amen!

THE BRIDE MAKES HERSELF READY

On the Day of Pentecost the Other Comforter was sent down to earth to complete the work that Yeshua began in His followers. The Shekhinah, His Divine Presence, was now engaged with Him in the work of the purification and the restoration of Their creation. The Bride of the Creator was separated from Him until Their work of cleansing and purification is complete. In Revelation chapter 19 we read:

"Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb." -- Revelation 19:7-9

Here we see that the marriage of the Lamb has come and that His Wife has made Herself ready. She is wearing fine linen clean and white which is the righteousness of the saints. Notice that it does not say that His bride has made Herself ready, but that His wife has prepared Herself for marriage. A woman is not called a wife until she is married. A man can marry his wife when he remarries her after a divorce or separation or if they wish to rededicate themselves to one another publicly. When a king who has already married a woman takes his throne, it was the custom in ancient times that he marry his wife before his subjects as part of the enthronement ceremony. Here we have an implication that the King of kings is to remarry His wife, the Shekhinah, publicly and that She was granted or given the right to wear clean white linen (as Her veil or train) which symbolizes the righteousness of the saints, Their subjects. Can this be substantiated from Scripture, or is it a cunningly devised fable? Let us read in Isaiah chapter 50 for the irrefutable answer:

"Thus saith the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother's divorcement, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away." -- Isaiah 50:1

What an incredible revelation as to who we are, and yet more so, Who They are!! Here the Lord is asking us where is the divorcement contract of our Mother (the Shekhinah)? In other words, there was no divorcement between Them. There is no divorcement paper! The Lord says, "It is not I that sold you, but you have sold yourselves to Satan and are his slaves to sin. And because you are sold unto sin you have put your Mother, My wife away from My Presence." Since humanity was still sinning after Our Lord was resurrected and had ascended into heaven to represent us before His Father, our Mother, the Shekhinah, the Other Comforter (Parent) was sent to this sin sick earth to care for and comfort Her children. She sits on the Mercy Seat of the Ark of the Covenant which has been secreted in a cave from which She directs the work of restoration and purification, through Her ministering spirits, the angelic host who are the guardians and protectors of mankind. The Shekhinah is in Her secret chamber, as a bride hides in her closet, to prepare herself for her groom through the various forms of purification and cleansing rites the law requires she must undertake.

The Shekhinah was sent down to earth on the Day of Pentecost, and it was announced that She had come to engage with the Saviour in the work of purifying His earthly Temple, the Body of believers He died to ransom. As the Spirit of Prophecy leads us into all Truth, convicts us of sin and gives us the power to overcome its curse and uncleanness in our hearts and minds, She will also be cleansing Her earthly Sanctuary or dwelling place made up of lively stones.

Each one of us is bought with a price and our body is not our own. We are a temple of the Holy Spirit, an alabaster box, an earthly sanctuary in which the Shekhinah, the Divine Presence and fragrance of the Saviour is to dwell. She sits on the mercy seat of our mind and heart and governs our body temple. As our sinful characters are cleansed and we are clothed with the righteous character of our Saviour, She simultaneously cleanses the veil in our body temple and Her own stained garments which She will wear at Her wedding. When She has cleansed us, by the renewing of our minds and hearts, She is granted or given the right "to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white, which is the righteousness of saints" (Rev 19:8).

"See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse." --- Malachi 4:5,6 (NIV)

ELIJAH -- the Spirit and Power of the Almighty -- turns the heart of Yeshua toward His children. Through obedience to Her the Shekhinah turns the rebellious hearts of Her children toward their Father. Only a Mother, the Mother of All the Living, Who has given us spiritual life through our spiritual birth, could accomplish such an act of love and mercy. She renews our stoney hearts to hearts of flesh, thereby restoring us to the perfect and holy Image of our Everlasting Father and Creator. Her mercy and compassion covers our unrighteous behavior. With Her own robe of righteousness She covers Her disobedient children as a mother hides her children behind her skirt or apron from their father's deserved punishment. The Father then only sees the Mother's mercy and love covering His disobedient children.

Our Father can see the mercy and love of the Holy Ghost only when His children choose to hide behind Her righteous covering. Thus, She justifies Her children before their Father, the righteous Judge, Who only sees Her Glory when He looks down from His Throne of Judgment. His heart is turned towards them, for they know and acknowledge their Mother as their only Intercessor and as the Father's Helpmate. The Father is so moved by the respect and obedience given by the children to their Mother that He grants them pardon. They have met the requirements of His law and have been justified and restored to His good graces through the Intercession of the Angel of Mercy, the Shekhinah.

Here again is demonstrated to us the dual work of the Atonement with its two sacrifices -- the sin offering and the live offering (two turtle doves, two goats); two intercessors -- Yeshua and Yeshuw'ah; two priests -- one of the order and one after the order of Melchizedek; two sanctuaries -- the heavenly and the earthly made of lively stones; two laws -- the moral and the ceremonial, the Decalogue and the Gospel; and the two Arks of the Covenant -- the one in heaven and the one in the earth, the replica made by Moses. Through the At-One-Ment humanity and divinity will be made One again. The heavenly and the earthly Family are to be united in harmonious praise and exaltation of Their Creators and Redeemers forever more. Amen and Amen!

APPENDIX A:

The following section consists of some secular and authoritative writings that will shed more light on the subject of the Shekinah. Please read all of the material with an open mind and heart and you will see how the Spirit of Prophecy backs up most of these opinions and theories. Let the Shekinah reveal Herself to you. You must be as a little child if you wish to behold your Mother.

THE HEBREW GODDESS, THE SHEKHINAH

"The Hebrew term shekhinah (lit. "dwelling, resting") first appears in early rabbinic literature, referring to the divine presence in the Jerusalem Temple, in Palestine, among the people of Israel, and more generally, within the world. It also signifies an intermediate aspect or emanation of divinity that links the divine realm to the realm of creation. Finally, in a number of medieval mystical texts, the term shekhinah represents the divine hypostasized in feminine form.

AS CONVEYOR OF THE DIVINE PRESENCE

Although the verb shakhan ("dwell") can be found in the Bible, the first occurrence of its noun derivative, shekhinah, is in the targum Oneklos, an Aramaic translation-paraphrase of the Hebrew Bible written sometime between the first and fourth centuries CE. Here, biblical anthropomorphisms that seem to compromise Jewish belief in the incorporeality of God are explained away through the substitution of the shekhinah or God's shekhinah for God. Hence, "I dwell among them" (Num. 5:3) becomes, in the Targum, "My shekhinah dwells among them"; "You cannot see my face, for man shall not see me and live" (Ex. 33:20) is paraphrased "You cannot see the face of my shekhinah"; and so on. In the Targum of Onkelos, as in other Targums, the word shekhinah ....is simply an abstract noun, grammatically feminine ...used to convey God's presence in the world and among his people Israel.

Early rabbinic references to the shekhinah associate it with the Tabernacle erected to God in the wilderness. According to such sources as Genesis Rabbah 3.9 and Shabbat 87b of the Babylonian Talmud, God sought to dwell in the universe from the very first day of creation, yet he did not do so until the Tabernacle was built. Once this was accomplished, his shekhinah - God's presence - came to rest within it. Similarly, the shekhinah is said to abide on Mount Sinai (B.T., Sot. 5a) and later, in the Jerusalem Temple (Ex. Rab. 2.2). The shekhinah, then, is associated with specific objects or places, all of which are bound up in Israel's history as a people chosen by God.

The shekhinah is said to rest only on those who are righteous, departing from those who sin B.T., Sot. 3b, Yoma' 22b) and refusing to rest on those who are indolent, gloomy, or frivolous (B.T., Pes. 117a). According to the Babylonian Talmud, the shekhinah further disassociates itself from scoffers, slanderers, hypocrites, and liars (San. 103b). The removal of the shekhinah from the sinner led some rabbis to maintain that with the destruction of the First Temple, brought about by the sins of Israel, the shekhinah departed from the world. Hence, the shekhinah was not present in the Second Temple as it had been in the First. Others, however, claim that the shekhinah was present, though intermittently.... Later following the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE, it came to rest in a number of synagogues in Babylonia. It is also considered present in all places where a minyan (a quorum of ten men are gathered in prayer) has been established (B.T., Ber. 6a). Finally, as Megillah 29a of the Babylonian Talmud maintains, it is present wherever the Jewish people are, even in exile, and in the future will be with them when they are redeemed. God's presence, in other words, may depart from certain types of persons but not from Israel as a whole.

Yet despite this frequent association of shekhinah not only with the people of Israel but with specific persons and places, the Talmud claims that God and his shekhinah are everywhere. The shekhinah, then, despite its coming into the world on account of Israel, does not only dwell among its people. It is omnipresent. As Sanhedrin 39a rhetorically asks, if the sun, one of God's servants, shines upon the whole world, how much more must the shekhinah of God himself shine?

AS INTERMEDIATE ASPECT OF DIVINITY

With belief in God's transcendence creating a sense of distance between God and His creations, the word shekhinah came to be understood as an intermediate aspect of divinity, a concept that is most fully developed in Jewish mystical literature. Yet with even nonmystical rabbinic sources, shekhinah serves as more than a theologically acceptable substitute for God. It becomes a means of emphasizing the immanence or indwelling of God both in the world and among his people.

In the Targum, as in the Talmud and Midrash, and numerous medieval mystical texts, shekhinah becomes equated with kavod ("glory" of God), heir to the Biblical "cloud of glory" that dwelt in the sanctuary as a visible manifestation of the presence of God (Num. 9-10). The Targum further associates the Hebrew shekhinah with the Aramaic memra' ("word") although, as Joshua Abelson (1912) maintains, memra' (like the Greek logos) goes beyond shekhinah to signify divine wisdom, power, love and justice. In the Talmud, shekhinah further becomes associated with ruah ha-qodesh ("the holy spirit"). Both serve as expressions of God's nearness in relation ship to Israel and the world . Both are also used in particular connection with outstanding personalities and with the gift of prophecy. Thus, the shekhinah is said to rest on men who are wise, strong, tall, and wealthy. Certain talmudic sages are also singled out as worthy of having the shekhinah rest upon them. So, in former times, were the prophets, those who spoke "by the Holy Spirit" and upon whom the shekhinah was said to rest (B.T., Yoma' 9b San. 11a, B.B. 15b).

According to the rabbis, the shekhinah maintained an especially close relationship with Moses. It was with him from his infancy through adulthood (B.T., Sof. 11a, 12b; San. 11a), continually speaking to him. Consequently, Moses separated himself from his wife so as always to be ready for the shekhinah (B.T., Yev. 62a, Shab. 87a). Raphael Patai (1967) speculates that a third-century synagogue mural from Dura-Europos (in southeastern Syria), depicting the infant Moses in the arms of an unnamed woman, does not show Moses with the Iranian goddess Anahita, as Erwin R. Goodenough suggests in his Jewish Symbols of the Graeco-Roman Period (New York, 1964), but rather with the shekhinah. Although one cannot dismiss the possibility that the figure may only represent Pharoah's daughter, should Patai's claim be true, the Dura-Europos mural takes on special significance as the earliest extant depiction of the shekhinah as feminine in physical form. Testifying to the influence of Hellenistic art on the Jews of that community, it predates Jewish literary descriptions of the shekhinah as a feminine figure by approximately eight hundred years.

Yet even in the Talmud and Midrash, the shekhinah takes on certain personifications. Like the Holy Spirit (Ghost), it is often described as light or fire. An example of "fire that eats fire" (B.T., Yoma' 21b), its light more radiant than that of the sun, shines upon the righteous in heaven (B.T., San. 39a, Hul. 60a, B.B., 10a). In addition, again like the Holy Spirit (Ghost), the shekhinah is associated with sound. Thus, for example, in Lamentations Rabbah, the shekhinah verbally despairs over the Israelites' unwillingness to repent. Similarly, it utters cries of grief over the deaths of the wicked and the righteous (B.T., Hag. 15b). In a number of rabbinic passages, the shekhinah is described as having wings. Proselytes are particularly singled out as those entering under the protective wings of the shekhinah (B.T. Yev. 48b, Shab. 31a). As George Foot Moore maintains in his two-volume study Judaism in the First Centuries of the Christian Era (Cambridge, 1927-1930), these other personifications often give the rabbinic shekhinah a "semblance of personality." It is this personality that is expounded upon and given deeper significance in numerous mystical texts.

Gershom Scholem, in Major Trends in Jewish Mysticism (1941), points out that in Jewish mystical literature the shekhinah serves as a reminder not of God's immanence but of his remoteness from the world of creation. Though Scholem acknowledges a connection between these conceptions, in medieval Jewish mysticism the shekhinah takes on significance as an intermediate figure between God-who remains remote and unknowable- and the lower, material realm of being. The role of the shekhinah here is analogous to that assumed by angels in Qabbalah (twelfth- through sixteenth-century Jewish mysticism) and merkavah mysticism (a mystical tradition roughly dating from the first century BCE through the tenth century CE) and by the Demiurge, the divine creator, who stands in contrast to the "true" God, again, in the merkavah tradition. According to Scholem, merkavah visionaries exercised a kind of "mystical anthropomorphism" in order to maintain that the Demiurge was in effect God appearing on the throne of glory, visible, and yet, because of his transcendent nature, unable really to be seen.

In the thirteenth century Zohar and other early qabbalistic texts, creation occurs through a series of ten male and female sefirot ("emanations") that emerge from the hidden God, who is Ein Sof (lit., "endless, infinite"). Shekhinah is here identified with the feminine Malkhut ("kingdom"), the lowest of the ten sefirot and, consequently, the one closest to creation itself. While Patai and others have compared the shekhinah to the Virgin Mary of medieval Catholicism, this comparison is superficial. Both appear as feminine figures who help forge a link between God and the material world....To the qabbalists knowing the shekhinah might bring about greater vision, but nothing could bridge the infinite gulf between the mystic and the hidden God.

AS DIVINE HYPOSTASIS

Alongside the view of the shekhinah as one of many feminine emanations of divinity appears a vision of Shekhinah personified as the feminine form of God. Indeed, as Scholem writes in On the Kabbalah and Its Symbolism(New York, 1965), by the thirteenth century the Shekhinah had emerged as a "quasi-independent feminine element" within God, envisioned as queen, princess, bride, and "Matrona," or lady. This conception of the Shekhinah contains a vivid eroticism that enables human sexuality to serve as a mirror of divine structure. Here, the ninth emanation of God, Yesod ("foundation"), together with all of the higher emanations, forms a male image of the celestial bridegroom or king. The union of the king with his bride, Shekhinah (the tenth emanation), produces what Scholem calls a "procreative life force," a force dynamically active in the world of creation (Scholem, 1961, p.227).

One further finds in qabbalistic literature the identification of the Shekhinah with the mystical community of Israel. Going beyond the early rabbinic depiction of the shekhinah in exile as conveyor of divine presence, one here sees human actions mirrored in a separate divine realm, with the Shekhinah experiencing on the divine level what the Jews experience historically. Thus she too is said to have gone into exile following the destruction of the Second Temple, causing the feminine and the masculine elements of God to be alienated from one another. In the Zohar, the Shekhinah appears in this context not only as queen, bride, and daughter, but also as mother, likened to the biblical Rachel, who weeps for her children. According to Scholem, the Shekhinah of the Zohar becomes a symbol of "eternal womanhood." as such, she assumes countless images and names.

AS THE DIVINE FEMININE

In Major Trends in Jewish Mysticism, Scholem credits the concept of the Shekhinah as the feminine element of God with being one of the most significant and lasting innovations of qabbalistic literature. He maintains that its widespread popular recognition is evidence of its having responded to a "deep-seated religious need" among the Jewish people. Indeed, despite the theological problems that the mystical vision of the Shekhinah created by calling into question in reality if not in theory the absolute unity of God, the popularity of this feminine concept of deity continued at least through the seventeenth century.

Arthur Green (in Heschel, 1983) suggests that the Shekhinah of medieval Qabbalah raises two important questions for contemporary Jewry. (1) Are both men and women in need of a feminine image of the divine, and if so, what role does this image play? (2) Can the image of the Shekhinah, created exclusively by a male community, be appropriated by those Jewish women who have begun to re-image the divine as feminine out of conviction that they too have been created in the image of God? While Green seems to believe that a "truly feminine [Jewish] spirituality" might begin by reexamining and possibly appropriating early feminine images of deity that were later rejected by the tradition, drawing upon images from other religious traditions, or creating new images altogether. Some have begun to alter traditional blessings from "Baruk attah Adonai" (Blessed are you, O Lord") to "Barukhah Yah Shekhinah" ("Blessed are you , Shekhinah"); others however reject the use of the shekhinah as an image, claiming that it reveals more about men's concepts of womanhood than it does about divinity itself."

The preceding section on the Shekhinah was taken from the article written by Ellen M. Umansky for the section under Shekhinah in The Encyclopedia of Religions, pages 236-238.

APPENDIX B:

THE SABBATH

"The SABBATH, to which we now turn our attention, is an exceptional figure among the female divinities of Judaism. The SABBATH is a unique example of a day of the week -- or more precisely, the name and idea of such a day -- having been developed into a female nomen and endowed with the character of virgin, bride, queen, and goddess...

"If because of the Sabbath you turn away your foot

From pursuing business on My holy day,

If you call the Sabbath a delight,

And God's holy and honored day,

If you honor it by not following your way

And by not seeking your business

Nor speaking thereof -

Then you will find delight in Yahweh,

And I shall feed you with the heritage

Of your father Jacob

For the mouth of Yahweh has spoken." -- Isaiah 58:13,14

"The character and laws of the Biblical Sabbath are validated by the myth of Creation: God created the world in six days, and on the seventh, the Sabbath, He rested; He blessed and sanctified it, and consequently it is the duty of every Israelite to do likewise and to refrain from all work on that holy day...

"The number seven, Philo points out, is the only one in the 'decade' (i.e., the first ten digits) which is neither produced by multiplication with any other number nor produces one within the decade if multiplied by another...

"This rich symbolism of the number seven is transferred by Philo in its entirety to the seventh day of the week, the Sabbath. We are left in doubt as to whether this application was the idea of Philo himself or whether it originated with others. One of the two passages in which Philo discusses the symbolism of the Sabbath is explicitly stated to be a mere recording of what others have invented; the other is phrased so as to indicate that it contains original thoughts of his own on the subject. In the first he says:

"Some have given to it (the seventh day, the Sabbath) the same name of the virgin, having before their eyes its surpassing chastity. They also call her the motherless, begotten by the father of the universe alone (who is) the ideal form of the male sex with nothing of the female. It (seven) is the manliest and doughtiest of numbers, well gifted by nature for sovereignty and leadership. Some give it the name of 'season' ('decisive time'), judging its conceptual nature from its manifestation in the realm of sense... For seven reveals as completed what six has produced, and therefore it may be quite rightly entitled the birthday of the world...

"Sabbath as the motherless, chase virgin does not, of course, jibe well with the excellences of the day marked by seven, 'the manliest and doughtiest of numbers'; but as to the sovereignty and leadership which Philo also attributes to the Sabbath, these -- as we know from his speculations about the two Cherubim -- he regarded as traits of the FEMALE component of the deity. In the passage in which Philo presents these ideas as his own, he indulges in an even less restrained sexual symbolism:

"The prophet (Moses) magnified the holy seventh day, seeing with his keener vision its marvelous beauty stamped upon heaven and the whole world, and enshrined in nature itself. For he found that SHE (the Sabbath) was in the first place motherless, exempt from female parentage, begotten by the Father (YHWH) alone, without begetting, brought to the birth, yet not carried in the womb (this is the Divine Mother who was brought forth from the Almighty). Secondly, he (Moses) saw not only these, that she was all lovely and motherless, but that she was also a virgin, neither born of a mother nor a mother herself, neither bred from corruption nor doomed to suffer corruption. Thirdly, as he scanned her, he recognized in her the birthday of the world, a feast celebrated by heaven, celebrated by earth and things on earth as they rejoice and exult in the full harmony of the sacred number...

"The Sabbath is described as a daughter of God, begotten by her Father alone without the participation of any female, and therefore motherless. She is marvelous in her beauty, ever virginal, incorruptible, but, at one and the same time, endowed with sovereignty and leadership. In these features, we shall recognize without difficulty some of the traits which also characterized other female numina of the Talmudic and Kabbalistic periods.

"...in addition to all the legalistic detail, there is one single passage in the Talmudic literature which indicates that the personification of the Sabbath as a bride and a queen dates back to Talmudic times...

"The common feature between the Talmud's and Philo's view of the Sabbath is that both personify her as a WOMAN: Philo makes her the virgin daughter of God, who is also the sovereign and ruler of the world; the talmud presents her as the bride of Israel and a queen...

"The Sabbath (7th day) descended from Heaven to the earth on Friday at the ninth hour (and remained) until Sunday at the rising of the sun so that the earth might see the deeds of the Sabbath...

"The personification of the Sabbath is a strong element also in another Falasha writing, the so-called Abba Elijah. In it we read that God gave the Sabbath the following names: Luminous, Glorified, Honored, Beautiful, Resuscitating, Rejoicing, Beloved, and Guardian; and that the name Sabbath itself means 'I Am God alone'...

"As might be expected, the Iaconic Talmudic allusions to the Sabbath as bride and queen were seized upon by the Kabbalists and developed into a Sabbath mythologem, upon which then was built one of their most important mystical rituals. Although the peak of the Sabbath adoration was reached only in the 16th century in the Safed center of the Palestinian Kabbalists, the trend towards it was heralded as early as the 12th century in both poetic and doctrinal exposition...

"'The children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath' -- this refers to the night, the mystery of the female; and 'Remember the Sabbath day' refers to the day, the mystery of the male.'

"The feminine Sabbath is, moreover, mystically identified with the Shekhina, or the Sephira of Kingship, while the male Sabbath is the Yesod ('Foundation') or Tif'eret ('Beauty'), i.e., the male aspect of the deity. Since the Shekhina is also identified with the Community of Israel, in this manner the Shekhina becomes the bride, or mate, of the Sabbath Yesod.

If we recall that Philo already had discerned a 'manly and doughty' aspect in the Sabbath, in addition to her feminine aspects of virginity, beauty, and sovereignty, we find that the Kabbalistic distinction between a male and a female Sabbath is, again, an idea which has its roots in antiquity.

"Elsewhere the Zohar describes the preparations one is supposed to make for reception of the Sabbath, the queen and bride, in proper fashion...

"With the Sabbath, a queenly visitor entered even the humblest abode, which, due to her presence, was transformed into a royal palace, with the table set, the candles burning, and the wine waiting. The mistress of the house became mysteriously identified with the Queen Sabbath, who was also identical to the Shekhinah, the divine Matronit, God's own consort. As for the master of the house, he felt his chest swell and his consciousness expand due to the 'additional soul' which came down from on high to inhabit his body for the duration of the Sabbath. All these supernal presences made man and wife feel part of the great spiritual world order in which every act and word was fraught with cosmic significance, and in which the supreme command of the day was 'Rejoice!'"

OTHER FEMININE TERMS

"...the 'Word,'...also had a Greek counterpart in Logos; the 'Daughter Voice (Bat Qol)', through whom God's will was made audible on earth; the law ( Torah), God's beloved whom He made the bride of Moses; the Earth ( Adamah), considered in the literal sense the mother of all living; the Mother City, and especially Zion, regarded as the mother of the people; and her counterpart, the Daughter of Zion, who represented the Mother's children, the people of Israel. All these were PERSONIFIED, ALL were FEMALE, and all partook, to a greater or lesser extent, of a numinous character." -- Excerpts by Raphael Patai, The Hebrew Goddess, (New York, Avon Books, 1978), Chapter VIII, "The Sabbath -- Virgin, Bride, Queen, and Goddess."

The Sabbath(s), as we can see from the above excerpts, has a twofold aspect of being male and female. It also has a two fold aspect of being referred to as a mother and a daughter, each begotten from a male being (Father). Both the Divine Mother and the Divine Daughter came forth from Their respective male counterparts as Eve did from her male counterpart, Adam. Therefore, it is correct to say that they were begotten by their respective male counterparts (not by their father) and that they were motherless. The Almighty brought forth His Divine Presence as His Shekhinah Glory was manifested. The Fahter then begat the Son through the bosom of the Divine Mother. The Son, the Expressed Image of the Father, in turn, manifested His own Shekhinah Glory and Second Self, the Divine Daughter. Both the Divine Mother and the Divine Daughter you could say were motherless, since they were not birthed as the Son was, but rather manifested as Eve was.

The Sabbath is the Seal of the Creator and the Re-Creator. The Shekhinah is the Queen, Bride, Matronit of the Sabbath, and Yeshua is the King, Bridegroom and Lord of the Sabbath. Each time we say S ABBA TH we call out, ABBA - Father. And Each time we call out AB-BA, we are saying AB - Father, but we also call BA - Mother. They are Images of One Another; you can't have One without the Other. So in the name SABBATH we have a male and female aspect depicting our Creator and Re-Creator, our Father and Mother, Yeshua and Yeshuw'ah, Who are the Images of Their Father and Mother. When we accept and keep the Sabbath holy we receive the SIGN of the Creator Yeshua and we rest in His Salvation Yeshuw'ah, the Other Creator, the Other Comforter (Parent), the Other Messiah, the Shekhinah, the Other Member of the Divine Family. We must keep the Sabbath in and through the Holy Spirit. When we give ourselves completely over to Yeshua and the Holy Shekhinah, this is our true rest. "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus (Yeshua the Messiah) has set me free from the law of sin and death."

APPENDIX C:

THE NAMES OF GOD

'EI 'Elyon. The Hebrew word 'Elyon is an adjective meaning "higher, upper," e.g., the "upper" pool (lsa. 7:3), the "upper" gate (11 Kings 15:35), and "highest," e.g., the "highest" of all the kings of the earth (Ps. 89:28). When used in reference to God, the word can rightly be translated as " Most High." Since in reference to God 'elyon is never preceded by the article ha- ("the"), it must have been regarded as a proper noun, a name of God. Thus, it can be used as a divine name meaning " the Most High" (e.g., Deut. 32:8; Isa. 14:14; Ps. 9:3) or in parallelism with YHWH (e.g., Ps. 18:14; 21:8; 83:19), EI (Num. 24:16; Ps. 107:11), and Shaddai (Ps. 91:1).

Among the Canaanites, ' EI and ' Elyon were originally distinct deities, the former attested by archaeological evidence from Ugarit in Western Syria, the latter by evidence from Phoenicia further south. Later, both terms were combined to designate a single god 'EI 'Elyon. In the *Tell el-Amarna Letters of the 15th-14th centuries B.C.E., the Canaanites called 'EI Elyon " the lord of the gods." According to Genesis 14:19-20, Melchizedek, king of Salem, was "a priest of God Most High [ El 'Elyon]," and he blessed Abraham by " God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth." Abraham accepted the title "Most High" as merely descriptive of his own God; he swore by " YHWH, God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth." The combined form 'EI Elyon occurs also in the Aramaic *Sefire inscriptions of the eighth century B.C.E. (See Pope, EI in the Ugaritic Texts (1955), 54ff.) and in later Greek inscriptions as Zeus Hypsistos. Whereas for the pagans the term referred to the god who was supreme over the other gods, in Israel it referred to the transcendent nature of the one true God.

'EI 'Olam. According to Genesis 2l:33, "Abraham planted a tamarisk at Beer-Sheba, and invoked there the name of YHWH, the everlasting God." The Hebrew for " the everlasting God" is 'el 'olam, literally, " the God of an indefinitely long time." Perhaps it was the title of EI as worshiped at the local shrine of Beer-Sheba (cf. EI Bethel, "the EI of Bethel," in Gen. 35:7). Then Abraham would have accepted this Canaanite term as descriptive of his true God. In any case, the epithet is logical in the context, which concerns a pact meant for all times. The term by which Abraham invoked YHWH at Beer-Sheba is apparantly echoed in lsaiah 40:28, where YHWH is called " the Everlasting God [ 'elohei 'olam], the Creator of the ends of the earth" (cf. Jer. 10:10, melekh 'olam, " the everlasting King"; Isa. 26:4, zur 'olamim, " an everlasting Rock"). In Deuteronomy 33:27, where " the ancient God" ( 'elohei gedem) parallels " the everlasting arms" ( zero'ot 'olam), the text is uncertain. Only in the late passage of Daniel I2:7 (probably translated from Aramaic) is the article used with 'olam. "The man clothed in linen... swore by Him that liveth for ever ( be-hei ha-'olam)."

'EI Shaddai. According to the literary source of the Pentateuch that the critics call the "Priestly Document," YHWH "appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as EI Shaddai" (Ex. 6:3). The traditional English rendering of the obscure Hebrew term ' EI Shaddai as " God Almighty" goes back to ancient times. The Septuagint renders Shaddai as Pantokrator, " All-powerful"; this is followed by the Vulgate's Omnipotens, " Omnipotent." Apparently, this rendering is based on an ancient rabbinic interpretation, sha, "who," and dai, "enough," i.e., " He who is self-sufficient" (e.g., Hag. 12a); thus, the Jewish translators Aquila and Symmachus in the early centuries C.E. translated shaddai by Greek hikanos, "sufficient, able." But this definition can hardly be taken as the true etymology of the term. No fully satisfactory explanation of it has yet been accepted by all scholars. The term is usually explained as a cognate of the Akkadian word sadu', "mountain," but not in the sense that ' EI Shaddai would mean "God the Rock" (cf. zur, " Rock," an epithet of God, e.g., Deut. 32:4, 30, 37).

Rather, 'EI Shaddai would mean "' El-of-the-Mountain," i.e., of the cosmic mountain, the abode of 'El; for the Patriarchs the term would mean " the God of Heaven." The ending -ai of shaddai would be adjectival, as in Ugaritic 'rsy (to be vocalized 'arsai), "She of the Earth," the name of one of the three daughters of the Ugaritic 'EI. It may be objected that Akkadian sadu should be cognate with Hebrew sadeh, "open field"; and that therefore in Hebrew the divine name should have been 'EI Saddai. It is possible, however, that the Patriarchs brought the term with them from Mesopotamia, and thus preserved the Akkadian shift of original 's to `s in this word, contrary to the correct Hebrew distinction between original 's and s`. Or, perhaps, Akkadian `sadu is not cognate with Hebrew sadeh, but with Hebrew shad, " breast," which comes from proto-Semitic tad; the semantic development from rounded "breasts" to "hills" and "mountains" would not be impossible. Although no Ugaritic equivalent of 'EI Shaddai has yet been found, in the Ugaritic poem about Baal and Anath (11 AB, iv-v:23-24, in Pritchard Texts, 131-3) it is said that Asherah "penetrates the dd [ mountain?] of EI and enters the pavilion of King Father Shunem [ or the King, the Father Or Years?]."

In the Bible the full name, 'EI Shaddai, is used only in connection with Abraham (Gen. 17:1), Isaac (Gen. 28:3), and Jacob (Gen. 35:11; 43:14; 48:3). The word Shaddai alone occurs as God's name in the ancient oracles of Balaam (Num. 24:4, 16), in poetic passages (lsa. 13:6; Ezek. 1:24; Joel 1:15; Ps. 68:15; 91:1; and 31 times in Job), and even in archaizing prose (Ruth 1:20-21). Moreover, Shaddai is an element in very ancient Israelite names, such as Ammishaddai ("My Kinsman is Shaddai"; Num. 1:12) and Zurishaddai ("My Rock is Shaddai"; Num. 1:6).

'EI Ro'i. The divine name 'EI Ro'i occurs in Genesis 16:13. After Hagar was driven away by Sarai (Sarah) and fled into the western Negev, at a certain spring or well she had a vision of God, "and she called YHWH who spoke to her, ' You are 'EI Ro'i,'" The meaning of the word " Ro'i" in this context is obscure. By itself it can be either a noun, "appearance" (I Sam. 16:12), "spectacle, gazingstock" (Nah. 3:6), or a participle with a suffx of the first person singular, "seeing me," i.e., who sees me (Job 7:8). Therefore, 'EI Ro'i could mean either " the God of Vision" (who showed Himself to me) or " the God who sees me." The explanation of the divine name that is given in the second half of the same verse (Gen. 16:13b) is equally obscure. As the Hebrew text now stands, it is usually rendered as "She meant, 'Have I not gone on seeing after He saw me [aharei ro'i]?' " (JPS, 1962), or, "She meant, 'Did I not go on seeing here [halom] after He had seen me?'" (E.A. Speiser, Genesis (1964),117). In the following verse (16:14) it is stated: "Therefore the well was called Be'er-Lahai-Ro'i." This name is explained in a footnote as "Apparently, ' The Well of the Living One Who sees me.'"(JPS). However, on the basis of the name of the well, E.A. Speiser (op. cit., p. 119) would emend the unvocalized Hebrew text of Genesis 16:13, hgm hlm r'yty 'hry r'y, to read hgm 'lhm r'yty w'hy. " Did I really see God, yet remain alive?" The name of the well he would then take to mean, " Well of living sight." Since the well was in the region occupied by the Ishmaelites (and Hagar was the mother of Ishmael), the divine name, 'EI Ro'i, may have been proper to the Ishmaelites rather than to the Israelites.

'El Berit. The divine name 'El Berit ("God of the Covenant") occurs only in Judges 9:46, where mention is made of "the house [i.e., temple] of 'EI Berit" at Shechem. This is certainly the same sanctuary that is called "the house [i.e., temple] of Ba'al Berit" in 9:4. From the treasury of the temple of Baal-Berith the citizens of Shechem gave seventy silver shekels to Abimelech, the son of Jerubbaal (another name of Gideon) to aid him in his fight for the sole kingship of Shechem against the other sons of Jerubbaal (ibid.). A few years later, the rebellious citizens of Shechem were burned to death by Abimelech in the temple of El-Berith where they had taken refuge (9:46-49).

The Deuteronomist editor of the Book of Judges regarded Baal-Berith as a pagan god. But the case is not quite that simple. First of all, in early Israel the word ba'al, meaning " owner, master, lord," was often regarded more or less as a synonym of 'adon, " lord" (see below under "'Adonai"), and so it could be used legitimately as a title of YHWH. Among the sons of King Saul, who was certainly not a worshiper of a pagan god, were those who bore the names of Merib-Baal, " the Lord contends" (?) and Eshbaal (originally, 'ish-ba'al), " man of the Lord," I Chron. 8:33, 34; 9:39, 40; and even one of King David's sons was called Beeliada (originally ba'al-yada'), " the Lord knows" (1Chron. 14:7), who is called Eliada ( 'el-ya,da'), " God knows" in II Samuel 5:16. Only after the time of Solomon was the word " Baal" recognized in Israel as the specifc title of the Canaanite storm-god Hadad, and thereafter avoided by true Israelites as a title for YHWH. ( Scribal tradition later changed the ba'al in older Israelite names to boshet (" shame") in the Books of Samuel and Kings.) lt is likewise uncertain what the berit (" covenant") refers to in the words Baal-Berith or El-Berith. Shechem was regarded as a sacred site by Abraham and Jacob, each of whom erected an altar there (Gen. 12:6-7; 33:19-20). In addition, Jacob's acquisition of land at Shechem (Gen. 33:19; cf. 48:22) and the connubium between the sons of Jacob and the sons of Hamor (as the Shechemites were then called) imply certain covenant agreements. Moreover, the strange name, "sons of Hamor" ( benei hamor, " sons of the ass"), who is said to be the "father of Shechem" (Gen. 34:6), seems to have something to do with covenant making. From the *Tell-el-Amarna Letters (c. 1400 B.C.E.) it is known that there was a strong Hurrian element in Shechem. The Septuagint is therefore probably correct in reading hhry ("the Horite," i.e., the Hurrian) instead of hhwy ("the Hivite") of the Masoretic Text in describing the ethnic origin of "Shechem" (Gen. 34:2); moreover, the uncircumcised Shechemites (Gen. 34:14, 24) were most likely not Semitic Canaanites (see E. A. Speiser, op. cit., 267). It is also known that the slaughtering of an ass played a role among the Hurrians in the making of a covenant. Thus, Baal-Berith or El-Berith may have been regarded by the Shechemites as the divine protector of covenants.

Did the early Israelites perhaps regard El-Berith as the God of the covenant made between YHWH and Israel? It is a noteworthy fact that Joshua, who had apparently been able to occupy the region of Shechem without force because Israelites who - many scholars believe - had never been in Egypt were already iiving there, renewed the Covenant of Sinai with all Israel precisely at Shcchem, the city sacred to El-Berith, " the God of the Covenant" (Josh. 8:30-35; 24:1-28). Therefore, even though the late Deuteronomist editor of the Book of Judges (it is conjectured by the adherents of the documentary hypothesis) considered Baal-Berith one of the pagan Canaanite Ba'alim, this term may well have been regarded in early Israel as one of the titles of YHWH.

'Adonai. The Hebrew word 'adon is correctly rendered in English as "lord." In the Bible it is often used in reference to any human being who had authority, such as the ruler of a country (Gen. 42:30), the master of a slave (Gen. 24: 96), and the husband of a wife (Gen. 18:12). In formal polite style a man, not necessarily a superior, was addressed as "my lord" ( 'adoni; e.g., Gen. 23:6, 15; 24:18): and several men could be addressed as "my lords" ( 'adonai: e.g., Gen. 19:2). Since God is "Lord ['adon] of all the earth" (Josh. 3:11), He is addressed and spoken of as " my Lord" - in Hebrew, 'Adonai ( literally, " my Lords," in the plural in keeping with the plural form, ' Elohim ...). Originally, " 'adonai," especially in the combined form " 'adonai YHWH" (e.g., Gen. 15:2, 8; Deut. 3:24; 9:26), was no doubt understood as " my Lord." But later, " 'Adonai" was taken to be a name of God, the " Lord." -- The Judaica Encyclopedia, Names of God, Volume 7, p 678 - 680
